Don't log any step based activities as your fitbit will pick those up. Things like swimming, rowing, weight training (if you choose to log it) and stuff like that should be logged separately into the fitbit app.

I'm however speaking as a zip owner which doesn't have a HR monitor, so it won't pick up the aforementioned activities, and HR monitors are no good for weight training.

You can log anything as an exercise. Just specify the time you did it and how long and your Fitbit will adjust everything else.

My Fitbit stopped syncing but I will log manually all my exercise and use this site.

    what christine said.

i dont log weight training at all.

i flip back and forth between letting my fitbit log my exercise and entering in manually in mfp. since i dont eat back many exercise calories, most of the time, anyways, it makes little difference in my personal weight loss.

Mine stopped syncing too. Do you think it is MFP fault or fitbit?

There is a bug that affects some users, the MFP team is working on the issue, there is a sticky in the News subgroup

I wonder why some users get affected and others don't? ?
I've had my fitbit for a year and have never had syncing problems.

I hope I haven't jinxed myself by writing this post...

You are supposed to eat the extra calories so your calorie deficit does not get too big and result in losing excess lean mass rather than mainly fat.

I don't let fitbit and mfp sync at all...if I go for a run or elliptical or weight train I record on MFP what fitbit records for the burn, but I don't count 10K daily steps just walking around as calories burned as I wouldn't want to eat them
