Put your info into MFP and stick to the calorie goals it gives you. Allot some time for your dress to be altered and spanx are awesome.

Hard to say. No one can tell you where you are going to lose inches first and how much relating to how much weight lost. Just start losing, try the dress on again in a couple months and see if you will need an alteration considering the rate you are losing at.

For me logging food carefully and cardio 6 days a week between 40-60 min a day I lost 5.5 pounds and 8.5 inches in 6 weeks. Hopefully there's some room for the dress to be let out a little and like @queenliz99 said, spanx are great. Did you have to get a dress so much smaller?

I'd try and get the dress ordered in the size you currently are, if you lose weight then you can get it taken in?

I hope the bride had no bad intent in getting a dress way too small for you. What she wants and what is reality may be two different things. I'm not saying impossible, just saying it's better to buy a dress that fits, instead of trying to fit into something you are not.

This. I am a strong believer in picking a gown that fits a person "now" (or even one size larger). Alterations to make smaller are much less stressful than dieting down to fit a too small dress.

I thought I was misreading of not understanding the question. This is not realistic or healthy. Ive lost 14 inches from my waist in 21 months, that's 1 yr 9 mo! About 2/3of an inch per month, or 2 inches in 3 mo on average. You might lose inches faster or slower than me, but not 3 inches per month!!

You need to have a serious discussion with the bride about ordering a dress that fits you. It is not realistic to expect that you could ever lose that much in your waist in 3 months. There are just too many factors that come into play. There are no spanx that are going to draw you in 9-10 inches. I don't think even a heavy-duty custom corset could do it unless you have been doing serious waist training for a long period of time. I know that brides can be very picky about what people wear, but if she is selecting dresses for people, she needs to select the dress for the person--not the other way around.

The maximum healthy rate of weight loss is 2 lbs a week for most people. If you set that as your goal in MFP & get food scale & start tracking your calories very carefully, you will have made a good start before your brother's wedding. Your body will take the fat from where it wants & it's different for everyone. My waist is one of the slowest places I lose from.

    A - What they said.

B - Add in weight training, especially core work (planks, situps, sides, back),
and as the fat burns off the underlying muscles will look better.

C - This. Will. Take. Time.

    D - See points A & D.

I did an aggressive but safe weight for a wedding. Went from 52 to 47 in 3 months. 10" is not realistic
