Weight training and stalled weight loss

I have read that when you start weight training your weight loss can be stalled. I was just wondering how long until the scale starts moving? I can see changes in my body but not on the scale. I am 113kg and 165cm and eat around 1500-1700 calories a day.

It only stalls due to extra water weight your muscles will hold on to to repair. It should drop after a couple weeks.

How long has your weight been stalled and when did you start training?

If you're seeing changes in your body, that's a great thing.

Don't focus on numbers on the scale, but on what you are seeing and feeling. Weight loss is never linear, but will have stops and starts as things like hormonal fluctuations, changes in diet, and exercises can cause your body to retain water and your weight to appear to plateau.
as long as you are happy with the changes you are seeing, and you are feeling good about yourself, you're on the right track. Keep doing what you are doing.

Other reasons that your body weight might be stalled is do to the muscle you are gaining from working out. Your body is changing in a good way and your weight may not be decreasing but you are still losing fat overall.

There is minimal muscle gained while eating in a calorie deficit

My weight has stalled for about 2 weeks. I started lightly training about 4 weeks ago but have started going a lot heavier and harder the last two weeks. Even more so this last week.

And even with newbie gains, which ARE possible, it is not the type of gain that would stop scale weight from dropping.

Then yeah. Just be consistent and patient. You're doing great!

Thank you :) I don't plan on stopping and I do know its normal. I was just curious because I have read any where from 2 weeks to 6 weeks before the scale moves. So I am happy to wait if it takes 6 weeks I kind of hope it doesn't haha

6 weeks seems long to me. I'd say you should see a loss this week or next for sure.

Awesome. Thanks for your input. I should also mention it is that time of the month so that probably didn't help.

Mine didn't stall as much as I would say "slowed down" and I am ok with it as I am seeing more difference in my clothing
