Hello everyone. I'm a stress and emotional eater but can usually hold it in check til nighttime. That is when I put my child to bed and feel like I can relax. I need to break the relationship between relaxing in and food at the end of the day. It's almost as if I feel I deserve a treat even though I know it's not good for me. Looking for support and motivation to change this behavior. Any tips?

I find that my regular evening meal of a large pile of vegetables with protein, starch, and legumes in proper portions leaves me so filled and bulky that I don't have any desire for more food.

Eating late won't have an impact on weight loss. It's only a problem if you have digestive issues.

My suggestion is that you save some calories for that time.

I support you and want to motivate you, but you should also know that you can still eat late at night and lose weight. Meal timing is not important. Save calories for that time. I find eating at night to be very relaxing. I eat at 7, 9, and 10:00...Maybe I'll skip the 9:00 meal if I'm really trying to lose.

Definitely save a little room in your calorie budget for it. I have a thing for dark roca, so I have a container of them and if I have room in my budget, I'll have one in the evening. It really hits the spot and I get my sweets fix, but is rich enough that I only need one. Or I might have a serving of cottage cheese or a banana with peanut butter on it, depending on what I'm craving. Just leave yourself a little wiggle room.

I believe eating before bed makes you bloated. Especially salty foods. Eat a fruit before bed. If up late...chew sugar free gum so you won't think about putting stuff in mouth.

I eat high volume salt foods every night. It's non of your concern if I'm bloated or not.

I eat more due to stress. I have started buying more fresh veggies.I also bought some frozen fruit bars. I work at night at least 3 nights a week as a server. I have started taking mini rice cakes or celery and it has helped so far.
