    Been there done that and very happy single. The bed is ALL MINE...there are no nasty niffs emanating from under the covers. I don't have to worry about the toilet seat (my sons are well trained!) I can prepare dinner at what time I like without a row ensuing (ex was a first rate control freak!) Future spouse HA!! no thanks.

    I'm not ashamed to admit I actually made a written list the other day ...

    1. A desire to protect & provide for me and any children we may have.
    2. A hard worker who takes his job seriously
    3. Responsible and dependable
    4. Financially stable (this does not mean "rich" ... but I cannot trust a man who can't pay his bills and isn't planning for his future)
    5. Willing and able to be the "head of household"
    6. Proper manners toward me and others

    I'm an old-fashioned girl, in case you couldn't tell. I like the idea of being able to trust that a man will think about what's best for me and our family when he makes decisions. If I can find one of those, then I don't have to worry about having "equal say" because I'll know he's already thinking about what I need.

    I also think a man's work ethic speaks volumes about who he is and what kind of husband and father he'd be.
