Whats the best Bathroom Scale to buy??

In the past two months I have bought 3 from Amazon.com one showed up broken and not working at all.. the other two have been off by up to 12 lbs when I use them... I put a 100 lb weight on one today and is said it weighed 18 lbs... What scale type brand do you use and is it accurate???

As a serious reply, I have a Taylor bluetooth scale that seems accurate enough (was within 1lb of my Wii Balance Board). Also, a 10lb weight is not a good check for a scale that is supposed to weigh things that are 100-250lb as it may have reading errors in the unrealistic weight range (only babies weigh 10lb so it is outside the normal operating range of a bathroom scale). You should grab 100lb of known weight and check that.0

This one from Wal-Mart is what I have used for the past 5 years and seems to be the best <$30 set I have found.
I use it to fully track my net CICO results so I only have one entry each day to track my CICO results. I do it twice each morning to monitor a man health factor after sleeping 6-8 hours that the doctors are always asking about.
The BMI feature is nice and I find the number of calories that I need to eat per day per my weight objectives is spot on but my hydration level is very key to in my case so that is an awesome feature.0 -

Walmart sells scales.
They carry Taylor brand which is reliable.

How do these electronic scales figure out your body fat percentage?
I use a balance beam scale at the gym but wouldn't mind having a cheapo scale at home too. Should I just get one that measures BF% too? I remember when this feature was first introduced it was considered inaccurate.

I just saw that on google but the other links I went to said the same thing about the electrical current. I've never used one so I can't personally help you out there. From the little reading about them that I did, it seemed that some people said they were accurate while quite a few said there are a lot of variables that can make it give an inaccurate reading. BUT I'm not an expert on BF bathroom scales haha.0 -

They use Bioelectrical Impedance - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioelectrical_impedance_analysis
They can be accurate, but just drinking a cup of water of sweating a lot can throw them off, hence why you can't really trust them. Following the manufacturer instructions is important if you want anywhere close to useful results. I believe they get worse the more extreme your BF% becomes (low or very high). My scale has an "athlete mode" for people with low BF% to help correct errors. My scale is reading 12.6%, while calipers and tape are measuring 10.7%. I'm confident I'm somewhere between the two.0 -
Thanks @nordlead2005 for sharing that link. While mine will weigh me with socks or shoes I have to get bare foot for all of the features to work. In my case my BMI and %fat seem to track together and just now they are 28.5/27% with hydration at 53.4%. When my BMI was 35 my body fat % was mid 30's as well but back then my best hydration was more like 46-48%. I guess fat is harder to hydrate.
It really does not matter about accuracy as long as it is repeatable and tracks weigh in a relative sense which my do. Something for home use and under $30 I like mine set works for me. I noticed I programmed mine when I was 60 years old and need to reprogram them that I know more 5 years later. It just told me I need to eat 2776 calories daily and I actually maintain eating in the 2500-3000 calories a day range.0
