As long as you're under your TDEE you'll lose weight. And you should be eating a minimum of 1200 calories anyway.

I have been binge eating a lot and I probably have been eating over 3000 a day so now if I eat about 1200 I still feel hungry, I was thinking of trying 2000 calories a day to start and see how that goes then keep lowering slowly

It is ok to feel hungry sometimes.

Yes. BMR = estimated calories your body burns at complete rest. These are the calories your body uses to keep your heart beating and other organs functioning. It doesn't include any activity at all (not even getting up to use the bathroom
You have to eat less than your TDEE to lose weight.
TDEE = Total Daily Energy Expenditure
Your TDEE is basically your BMR + Calories burned through daily activity + exercise.

    Example:
    My BMR is approx. 1295
My TDEE is currently averaging 2200 per day. My TDEE is impacted based on how active I am. If I'm lazy, it decreases and I can increase it by being more active. However, currently, as long as I eat less than 2200 calories I will lose weight

It depends on what "eating less than I currently am" means.

If you are currently eating 1,000 calories above your calorie needs, and you start eating 500 less than that, you'll still be over your daily calorie needs and will still not lose weight (you'll just gain it at a slower rate).

Do you do no activity throughout the day? Your BMR is basically what your body will burn just from you being alive. Do you walk during the day or anything? If so, you shouldn't go by your BMR. Enter your activity level into the MFP app and eat based on what it tells you to eat in order to lose 1 or 2 lbs a week.

Yes I'm active some days but not everyday and I calculated my tdee and its about 1450 if I put sedentary so I put a calorie goal of 1,300 on here and I'll excercise too to make the weight loss faster. Thank you for telling me that :)
