Should I change regime

Good morning,

So for the stats, I'm 6ft 2 with a starting weight of 267lbs, I am not at 215lbs with a goal weight of 200lbs. I would consider myself lightly active as I am an anaesthetic nurse with loads of walking and manual handling. Despite this I set myself as sedentary as lightly active wasn't working for me. My calories are 1580, with a macro of p40/c30/f30.

I changed my exercise regime at 215 to include a lot more lifting, I do 25 minutes of cardio and 40 minutes of lifting at each work out, previously only did 30 of cardio. Weighted myself all week and last weight in clocked me at 4lbs heavier. I workout 5 days a week. I have been calorie counting for over a year and my logging is completely spot on.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Can it truly be water retention? Its been two weeks and I've averaged 3-5lbs heavier then my lightest. Getting disheartened as I've spent years only caring what the scale said to me.

Most likely it is water retention, however your food tracking could be a bit better. You have a lot of turkey breast steaks at 125 grams. How can every steak be exactly 125 grams? These should be weighed. Also I see generic entries like a medium banana when it should be weighed in grams. Boiled potato, 1.5 medium. Rice, always 150 grams. Don't choose generic entries.

Some weeks the scale does not move. Be patient.
Use measurements and pictures to see progress when the scale is not moving.

The Turkey is 4 in a 500g pack, so I put 125g for each, I see your point though, some might be heavier and some lighter. The sweet potato and banana is just what came up with bar code scan, really annoying though.

The rice is always 150 because thats how much I weight out, the other three items I will tighten up on. Thank you

    Yes and yes.
Give it a month after changing your routine - especially as you have added lifting (soreness/inflammation/water retention).

Last fall my weight spiked up seven pounds after I started weight lifting again. It came off unnaturally quickly as I got sick and lost my appetite, but you can expect to lose this retained water weight within a month after starting the new regime.
