I'm just getting into smoothies. My go-to one is 2 handfuls of ice, chi seeds, vanilla protein (slim fast one scoop), 1 cup of blueberries, 5-6 strawberries, 1 medium banana, 1/2 tablespoon of walnuts and a splash of 2% milk. I usually make two pints of it and have one am, one at Noon.

I usually just wing my smoothies based on what fruit I have on hand.
    Today it was:
    2 cups spinach
    1 whole banana
some frozen strawberries in lieu of ice cubes
protein powder (I would suggest a higher quality powder, the slimfast ones tend to have more carbs than protein, and in a smoothie you're getting enough carbs from the fruit)
a few dollops of greek yogurt for more protein and creaminess
    2tbsp chia seeds.

I'm not a fan of using a meal replacement powder when I have access to a blender.l prefer that to add fruit to a 100% whey protein. Powders can be expensive, I try ñot to spend my hard earned money on a sugar or carb laced product.

My favorite ingredients are bananas, peanut butter, instant coffee, flax seed, strawberries, sliced apples/cinnamon. On occasion, I'll use a yogurt cup or extra ice

I am with you on wasting money on protein powders when others options are so much cheaper.

My protein shake all plant based done in my Vitamix:

    8 oz carrot juice
    8 oz water
    1 frozen banana
    4.5 oz organic spring mix
3 tbs sunflower seed butter or cashew butter
1 tin Trader Joe's chick peas
1 tbs Trader Joe's coconut oil

Will be adding 1/4 cup wheat bran for extra fiber

    Makes 3 servings - 12 oz servings

Hi guys, some great smoothie recipes in here! I have some whey protein but it's chocolate orange flavour!! Not sure this would work with smoothie?? May have to change to vanilla?? Any thoughts greatly appreciated X
  • If you're looking for a quality, relatively in-expensive #1 rated (by labdoor.com) whey isolate protein powder than I highly reccommend this one, I get it in Chocolate Smooth, and I love it. It's not chalky, doesn't have that weird aftertaste, and mixes really well... http://us.myprotein.com/sports-nutrition/impact-whey-isolate/10852482.html

As far as my morning smoothie goes it's 1T flax meal, 1 tsp culinary grade Matcha powder, 1 1/2 c. water, 2 c. spinach and 1 c. frozen wild blueberries.
