BROILED broccoli and cauliflower.
just cut up some fresh broccoli and cauliflower, spray the pan with pam and put it under the broiler for like... 5 or so minutes? I don't really time it, but instead wait until I can hear it sizzling and it just starts turning brown and crispy. Then I spray it with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray (or you can use extra virgin olive oil) and then season them with cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and season salt (as desired). OMG. So good. Also, and this might sound weird, but I LOVE dipping them in honey mustard.
The texture is the main reason, but it just tastes SO much better than when you boil it. I will say grilling it is even better, but I don't have access to one now that I'm home for the summer.
Anyway, just wanted to share!

Sounds good to me... I did cauliflower and broccoli last night too.
Steamed in the microwave for 2 mins first, then in a dish with salt and pepper and a little bit of grated cheese on top and under the grill (I think this is the same as broiling, that always looks like a typo to me!).
It's my variation on cauliflower cheese which traditionally has white sauce and lots more calories.
I love the idea of garlic powder and cayenne, I'm going to try that next time.0 -
That sounds soooo good.. I miss broccoli and cauliflower.... alas I must abstain since I am nursing and it makes my son soooo gassy and fussy! I'll remember that though for when he weans!0

Glad for that info. The way I used to have califlower like that had lots of butter, garlic and parmesan cheese. I love the butter spray! That would work great! Will try the garlic and parmesan with the spray! Thanks!0
