As a side note
I made cinnamon cupcakes and put in pumpkin instead of oil0 -
I have used pumpkin before as well. I love using pumkin.0

Love it, but I rarely bake anymore because I just want to eat it all. Would like to find a good recipe for a protein-dense zucchini bread that tastes good, if such a thing exists.0

Does anyone know if using a different type of flour would help reduce calories?0
-
I don't know about calorie reduction but I have heard that using wheat flour, almond flour or oat flour is better for you than reg white flour. I have never used almond or oat or anything like that.
I have used wheat flour and it changes the consistency of what your baking. Wheat flour is more dense and will make whatever you bake more dense.
Not sure about the other types tho. Mostly because they are just not economical for me at this time.0 -
Eh, the calorie reductions from different wheat flour types are pretty negligible at best - usually about a 10-20 calorie difference per 1/4c. When you get into alternative flours like almond, the calories can start to mount up. It is part of the reason why going gluten free doesn't necessarily lead to weight loss. A lot of the flour replacements for baking have significantly more calories in them per serving compared to wheat flour.0

How about smoking meat. I do know my way around a kitchen, but I love being a pitmaster. Does that count?0

I tend to gain weight when I eat baked goods, so I very rarely eat them anymore. I recently stumbled onto a healthy recipe for cornbread/carrot cake that turned out pretty good. I have to figure out the calories/macros but I liked it.0

Sounds good. I'm the same way. I tell myself I'm only going to a bite but it always turns out more.0 -
Try buckwheat flour. Great for waffles0

Absolutely. We smoke meat all time in our smoker.0 -
I love to bake! (as long as the box has simple instructions). The fun part is handing over the icing and decorations to my 9-yr old and his friends. . "Here!. .Decorate this cake!". .0

I love to cook and especially to bake. My husband has taken over fixing dinner since he is retired and he doesn't always fix the best for a dieting me. I haven't done as much baking since I don't want to eat a lot of it but I will bake with my granddaughter and send home part of it with her.0

I made these beauties the other day!! I'm pretty much only good at making deviled eggs and Jell-O shots.0 -

O good sir no more boxes. Lol
My daughter loves to bake and we do it from scratch. This way I know exactly what's in it and I can tweak it some of need be. Letting them decorate is fun. Its amazing to see what kids can come up with.0
