Best Salad

I would say Arugula and spring mix with salmon, egg, onion, tomato, avocado, cucumber, new potatoes, asparagus and green beans with light champagne viniagrette. So basically a salmon salad nicoise but with a few more veggies. and the arugula just has a wonderful flavor0
-
I love arugula so I make a chopped salad with Arugula, shredded cabbage, diced red bell pepper, cilantro, scallion, shredded carrots, sliced almonds, capers and top with either grilled chicken breast or a ground turkey burger0
-
I've had a lot - I love salad but recently I've been getting the Kale Caesar from Sweet Green but I modify it so that it's like the Hummus Tahini but with less calories. It can easily be recreated though - kale, romaine, tomatoes, shaved parmesan, falafel, hummus, lime cilantro jalapeno dressing.0
-
All of those sound delicious!!! I am trying to stay healthy but have been getting so bored with my usual salads!0

Best salad you will ever eat, guaranteed. Lots of prep work but worth it.1 -
My go to:
-kale
-romaine/ cabbage
-tomatoes (Roma or heirloom)
-cucumbers
-shredded carrots
-pickles
-sometimes a type of bean
Dressing: mixture of ACV, maple syrup, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, lemon juice. Creates a maple mustard dressing that goes well with the sharpness of the ACV!(:0 -
The salads that I tend to stick with at home are:
cobb salad (center cut bacon, HBE, gorgonzola, tomato) and I like to mix light champagne vinaigrette with light ranch
mesclun/spinach mix with craisins, sunflower seeds or some kind of nut, gorgonzola, and light champagne vinaigrette.
taco salad (turkey taco meat with homemade taco seasoning, all the fixins - salsa, light sour cream and hot sauce as dressing)
When I'm out I order just about any salad that sounds a little off. Something with lobster, beets, massaged kale, whatever.

My FIL makes a pretty great ham salad: it's got bologna, pickles, and ham in it. It's fantastic on toast.
But something tells me that's not quite what you're after here.0 -
Personally I've found that once I stopped making "loaded" salads, they got a lot better.
I find this article helpful for picking the right dressings for the right greens. Because different kind of greens respond differently to fat and acid and sweetness, I only pick one leafy green for each of my salads now.

Ps I just had the most delicious salad. Just baby kale, a medium boiled egg, some chopped almonds, and a nicoise dressing that was made with rolled anchovies, whole grain mustard, a ton of lemon juice, a dash of sugar, and extra virgin olive oil.
As someone mentioned above, you could also make it into a salmon nicoise with medium rare broiled salmon, some blanched green beans, and a couple of small boiled potatoes.

-Trader joes broccoli slaw
-Persion cucumbers
-Roasted/salted sunflower seeds
-Onion (if you like)
-Raisins
-Vinegar/oil/salt/pepper/onion powder
(I like the broccoli slaw because it stays crunchy and doesn't get soggy)0 -
I like simple salads...some of my more recent:
Green Chickpeas, Beet, Feta and a little EVOO and Lemon
Red Quinoa, Lentil, Artichoke Hearts..and whatever green I have to chop up
Arugula, Asian Pear, Asiago, Pomegranate Seeds with Basalmic and EVOO
Cucmber, Sichuan Chili Paste, Black Vinegar, Garlic, Chili Oil
More Meal Like would be a Nicoise or Gado Gado0 -
I like my salads heavy: barley, beans, corn, peas, red peppers, green onions, vinegar, oil, and dill salad dressing. YUM. I want some calories in my salads. I can't stand to be hungry.0

This Harvest Apple Salad was great. The one I make the most is Breakfast Salad-soft boiled egg, bacon, spring mix lettuce, balsamic vinegar, olive oil.
Thanks for posting this, I need to steal new salad ideas.0 -

Don't mean to derail the thread but any others using Walden Farms dressings? I've hear some good and some bad thoughts.
Outside of my question, this salad sounds AMAZING.0 -
There's no such thing as a good salad. Anyone who eats them doesnt really do so for enjoyment....0

I enjoy salads. It is oneof the reasons that I enjoy ruby Tuesday- they have all the fixings for a super fresh salad. Sometimes that is ALL that i want a nice crisp salad with lots of fresh veggies.0

I love taco salad. It's probably my favorite meal!0

Not true, I eat one every day and I'm not even trying to lose weight. At the moment my favorite is smoked salmon, avocado, edamame, beets, spinach, goat cheese, and balsamic vinegar.0 -

One of my favorites is a salad of spring mix with grilled chicken, strawberries, blueberries, apples, blue cheese, toasted nuts and a zesty vinaigrette dressing. Chick-fil-a has one and that's where I first discovered this combination. I've made a copy cat one at home ever since!0

I hate to sound like a shill, but:
I was working late on Friday and needed a meatless option, and wanted something that wouldn't break my calorie budget. I was considering McD's but really didn't want to. So instead I got a Mediterranean Quinoa salad from Panera. That was darn tasty, and I'm not a big salad person.0 -

I'll say that their salad dressing are pretty good(to me anyways). Some of their other products are disgusting and should be avoided.0
