Hello everyone
I am travelling to Cuba in two days visiting an all-inclusive resort... That means all you can eat and all you can drink.
Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid blowing the net calorie intake target?
I will be doing lots of swimming and scuba diving but fear that the buffet and open bar will entice me to fall off the wagon...
I am also doing the military diet, which is a 3 day a week diet.
ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!
Rob

It's vacation, you should enjoy yourself and not worry about sticking to an overly restrictive (and for you a very low calorie) diet. Eat sensibly, which means filling your plate with mostly fruits, vegetables and lean meats. Enjoy some treats or drinks without going overboard. Being active will help offset extras.
As for the military diet, that's not nearly enough calories for men.0 -
I tried the military diet once and it made me really angry lol.. I don't recommend it and definitely enjoy your vacation think of it as a planned cheat vacation and come back refreshed and ready to drop those extra pounds .. Really it's in our everyday life we need to make better choices vacations are short and not long term and should be fun! Enjoy!!0

For the military diet, you should add (at least) 100 extra calories as a man. I would recommend only doing it for the 3 days a week, and then doing a moderate diet the other days (1800-2000 calories).
This will be more like intermittent fasting.
As for your vacation. Fill you plate 3/4 with fruits and veggies, and 1/4 with proteins. I'd have a moderate-sized dessert, too, so you don't feel cheated. And have fun!0 -
The military diet is a vlcd and as such isn't allowed to be discussed on the forum (mfp rules) just incase you wonder where your post went0

I had to google what a "vlcd" was. Actually the military diet doesn't go under 1100/day, (1400 for day one, 1200 for day two, and 1000-1100 for day three, then 1500 for days 4-7) and a vlcd is defined as 800 or less (like maybe the ones where you take a pregnancy hormone under dr supervision? Not sure). And for a man its around 12-1500 because they recommend at least 100 calories more daily.
I'm not completely familiar with all the rules and vlcd, but I don't think this qualifies as one.
