Anyone exeriencing loss of appetite in the beginning?

I've been working out for two and a half weeks and have been using mfp for half that time. I've been experiencing loss of appetite for a couple days now and I'm wondering, is this normal? I find myself eating just to eat and not because I'm hungry.

    Definitely normal. As you ramp up and get into a regular routine rather than the initial confusion of your adjustment period of getting into working out, you'll feel your appetite coming back, though you may find you feel full/satisfied sooner with the same amount of food.

    Important: don't give in to the sensation and refrain from eating just to bump up your caloric deficit. Your body will know what to do with proper nutrition alongside exercise, heightened exercise while also lessening caloric intake over time will actually impede your progress, counterintuitive as that may seem

    Have you made a whole scale change of diet? Eating more 'wholesome' foods eg, more fresh vegetables, more whole grains, etc can impact satiety because of increased food volume & fiber. If this is the case, you'll adjust in a few weeks.
    This comes up a lot on these boards, and obviously if you're here to lose weight eating enough has not been a problem in the past! But I think there's a sort of 'honeymoon' mentality that kicks in at the beginning of a health overhaul that can make us extra compliant. It will fade. Eat what you can & track accurately. If you are full one day, stop eating. It will balance out over time. Look at weekly goals & averages rather than daily if that helps.

    Have you cut out a lot of carbohydrates from your food intake? I find when I stay away from the more simple carbs like white bread, sweets, and limit my fruit intake to 2 servings a day that my hunger level goes way down.

    Yes, I've replaced all white breads, crackers, and pasta with whole grain. I've been eating more fruits, veggies, and protein. I also completely cut out cookies, cakes, pie, pastries, and candy and I drink water all day long.

    I have been doing that and eating more protein because of my workout routine. How long did that phase last or does it only depend on how you eat that day?
