Without knowing anything about you (weight, activity level, etc), we can't tell. But many people do lose weight on 1,500 calories.0

If you switch your goal to "Maintain your current weight" on MFP, what amount of calories do you get? Anything below that and you'll lose weight.0
-
Eat 1500 and workout you will lose.0

I lost eating around 1700-1800 but it depends on your starting weight, activity level and how much you want to lose per week.
Sounds perfectly reasonable to lose on 1500 but depends on the individual.0 -
With added activity calories I eat 1600-1800 calories/day and still lose. Not sure where you're starting from or how far you have to go but you probably can lose at 1500.0

Basically, it's this. But your initial post didn't explain what you are unable to do. Are you unable to limit your intake to 1200 calories, or unable to lose weight? Does your mfp goal for weight loss put your required calories at 1200? What is your mfp goal for weight loss? Are you desiring to lose 10 lb to reach bikini-perfect with a 2/lb per week goal? That is so unlikely as to be an irrational goal. Adjust your goal to lose 0.5 lb per week. That will make your success both possible and easy.0 -
I have a very hard time eating just 1200 and I wish I could. Usually end up at around 1600 for the day0

I lose at 1560 (age 21, height 5'5.5", weight 153 lbs, treadmill almost daily, lifting every other day). So it's possible. But without knowing anything about you, no one can really say.

Try this TDEE calculator. Eat below your TDEE, you should lose weight. I believe every 250 is half a pound. You can also just go to your settings on here and change your goal from what is probably 2 pounds a week (with 1200 calories) to something else.0 -
as long as your maintenance isn't 1500, and it wouldn't be unless you were very very short and relatively inactive all at once... then yes... I'm losing at 1550... I would continue to lose at 1600, 1700, 1800 etc, right up until I hit maintenance. It just happens a little bit slower.0

Is it possible? Yes.
Is it possible for you? No clue. I don't know enough about you to guess.

I am on a 1500 calorie diet. I walk twice a day and have been losing0

You can put your stats in here and see what it says:

I've lost 50 lbs on 1500 calories. It wasn't fast (9 months), but I was seldom hungry and I'm finding the habits I developed over that time really helpful in making the transition to maintenance0

Your height, weight, and activity level would be helpful, but I'm 5'3" and when I was losing weight, I ate 1900 to 2200 calories per day to get from 119 to 109 pounds.0

I'm 38 5'4" 127 lbs and my "sedentary " maintaince calories is 1,550. I don't know your stats but since my Fitbit shows I burn an average of 1,900 a day I could lose at 1,500 calories, not a lb a week but I could lose. If you don't have a Fitbit try a TDEE calculator online.0 -
Wow thanks guys. I started my weight loss on May 2015 and since then I have lost 50 pounds going buy what my fitness pal suggests as I lose weight but lately its been to hard. I started at 271 now i am at 220 but doing this 1,200 gets me stressed. I am 5'3 and weigh 220 age 26 what do you guys think?0

So i calculated if I wanted to mantain my weight it says i should consume 2,120 calories....wooooo so I guess I can lose weight consuming 1,5000

I'm very impressed with everyone's weight losses.
I am 67 years young, 5'2", weigh 218 lbs. (Never weighed over 100 lbs. until I was 21, stayed around 110-115 lbs. until my late 30's after I had my 3rd son. I am diabetic, so I can't exist on 1200 calories a day, my blood sugar would drop like a rock. I also have arthritis in both knees, so doing step aerobics, yoga, pilates and walking a lot like I use to do is out of the question. I just joined Pacer Steps about a month ago, so I'm working at doing more and more steps each day.
Speaking of which, does anyone know how to connect My Fitness Plan to Pacer Steps? I have it on my iPhone. I found out about My Fitness Plan via Pacer Steps.
Good luck to everyone and be safe! :-)0 -
BTW. . . .My Fitness Plan has me at 1,395 calories a day. That will be difficult for me to do, but I don't know how to change it, if I can. I could do 1,500-1,600 a day.0

I do 1540 I believe. I didn't no how much I was suppose to actually be consuming so I was doing 1250 at first and I always felt so hungry. I couldn't do it. And when I got my calculations right it gave me 1540 and so I was pretty much starving myself for like 2 months. And now I do goo not all that hungry and I usually eat aroun 1400 now0

@Marsonda48 You should be able to connect them here:
https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps/show/280
Pacer will probably add calories in the form of an exercise adjustment to your base of 1395 once connected0 -
