Help! I just started eating this way today. Wondering if anyone could give me some good resources for snack ideas? Lunch? Dinner?

Start with a protein and build around that. Add a veggie. Google the atkins induction list and only eat foods from that list. Keep it simple, don't get overwhelmed. By quickly reducing your carb intake you might experience something called keto flu. It's avoidable by upping your sodium. On lchf you need 3,000-5,000 mgs per day. Many people drink broth with extra salt (Celtic or hymolayian pink), nuun electrolyte tabs, salt sticks, pickle juice.

Breakfast for me is usually two eggs fried in butter and two slices of bacon. Lunch is leftovers and a small salad with full fat dressing. Supper are meat and veggies. Steak with asparagus. Chicken thighs with green beans. Bunless cheeseburger with mashed cauliflower. You get the idea....
I don't snack much. Once fat adapted your appetite decreases. If I do find myself needing a snack I grab a cheese stick or a few almonds.
A great place to start is dietdoctor.com
Also consider joining the low carb group.

Snacks: peanuts, almonds, cheese sticks, avocados, peanut butter & celery, or just peanut butter

Meals: meat, meat, meat. Avocados (avocados are your friend), low carb veggies, leafy greens.

That is a great group, very knowledgeable and very supportive.

Have you read any books or any other resources prior to starting this WOE? There are a lot of great resources out there and LCHF isn't something that I would just jump in to with a knowledge base.

My diary is open if you would like to take a look for some meal ideas. I aim for 60% of my calories from fat, 30% from protein, and 10% from carbs. Choose healthy fats like evoo, coconut oil, butter/ghee, lard, tallow, etc. When choosing meats, don't go for the leanest cuts, I prefer dark meat poultry and steaks without the fat trimmed. I like cheese but be careful because it does contain carbs. I do a lot of dark leafy greens, riced cauliflower, berries, etc. Heavily salted bone broth is good especially in the early stages.

My advice? Go slow. If you are use to consuming 150+ carbs per day and then drop down to less than 25 net carbs, you are going to probably make yourself sick. Try a week at less than 100, then less than 75, then less than 50. You'll be less likely to experience keto flu this way.
