GUYS!!!! SOS!!!!
I gained so much weight!!! I went from 60kg to 66kg!!!! This is literally ruining me and I don't know if depression is trying to take over at this point. I've had depression before and it was very hard to battle, but I recovered from it. BUT WHAT DO I DO?!?!? I drink green tea sbout three times a day, and I think I just overeat. HOW DO I STOP??

Get treatment if you have depression. Don't worry about drinking tea or not - focus on getting the overeating under control. Use your food diary and log - consistently.0

Green tea is delicious and all, but it does nothing for weight loss, so drinking 3 cups of green tea a day will not magically cause extra calories to disappear and you are absolutely correct on your assumption that you are overeating.0

You absolutely have to weigh and measure all your foods to get your calories right. It is amazing how little things like condiments and other stuff will shoot your calorie count up.0

A good way to tell if something is a scam is if Dr. Oz promotes it. Ever wonder why every diet "pill" or supposed quick fix says "...along with diet and exercise"? Because they know only those things actually lead to weight loss. Yes some things may help you lose weight a little faster but in the end it is calories in/calories out.0

How do you stop? Well, you stop.... There is no automatic lever putting the food into your mouth....0

You should see your doctor about the depression. I know it can be hard to take that first step, but you won't regret it. Also, one of the biggest tools that helps me manage my depression is exercise.0

Seconded. Don't make drastic changes at first, just honestly log what you eat. Then, make changes appropriately. Good luck!0 -

What are you on MFP for then???
Judge much? I logged faithfully for a while then slacked off, but I stayed on the forums and kept the goal in mind. This person is clearly here asking for help, got some advice, and perhaps they will take it to heart an get started again. Which is usually how weight loss goes for humans, we try we fail we try again.
Perhaps keep in mind that we're all humans here susceptible to flaws just like all the rest.
Yep, OP, get back to logging. Maybe you'll find this go around more successful especially if you re-read all the getting started information. That's what I did after my long break. Start from scratch and prelog your food so you have a plan and know where you Stand calorie wise. Today ive logged 1800 calories of food but I actually have about 400 left (and that's if I don't eat back half my exercise calories!). I'm currently deciding if I need to stop with the kids I take care of and grab a fancy coffee or not, but it would certainly fit and it feels great knowing I have that option. Pre-logging my day actually gives me tons of flexibility so I don't feel trapped. I can take one thing from dinner to make room for something I really want at lunch and seeing it work both ways is really helpful0 -

I agree on exercise helping a lot, but only once I decided to try and heal myself if that makes sense. Sitting on the floor crying me didn't want to exercise, but the me who picked herself up doesn't want medication and had to decide on an action plan knows that days that start with movement are significantly better days. But I am also on a team with my doctor who supports my efforts to mindfully control my behavior and not let depression rule my life.0 -

You have no idea how much I can relate with you.
I do have days where I'm just upset with myself. I've fought depression once and I know its slowly starting to take over again. I want to ignore the bad things and be happy. But I find that the only way to be happier, for me, is to lose all the weight. My family and friends constantly taunt me, telling me to lose some weight - and thats what I want to do.
But I see I have left out a very important detail associated with my health - I have exercise induced asthma. This means I can't run, swim, do cardio etc for even 5-10 mins. Breathing for long periods of time is very hard for me, and thats why I had made another post asking about pilates. Since I can't do cardio with asthma, I was questioning pilates. The replies I received were that it won't help me lose weight. So now I'm asking around for what kind of exercises I could do that aren't related to running.
But exercise isn't the only thing I have to keep in mind. I also have to eat clean. I think by updating my log now, I can control myself by seeing what I've eaten in the past day(s). I want to lose 16kg now, and if I go for hour long walks everyday and eat healthy, how fast do you think I could lose 16kg?0 -
Are you exercising? If so, it may be muscle repair so your body is retaining water for that.
Are you weighing and measuring your food? That is what I have to do with every meal or else I would overeat very easily. Start doing that and I bet you will see a loss.
Make sure to eat as many one ingredient foods as you can. I say this all the time like a broken record but it really does make a difference. And cut back on sodium rich foods (frozen foods are the worst!). They can make you show a gain for days on end.
Drink plenty of water!
Feel free to add me as a friend.0 -

When I'm depressed, the last thing in the world I want to do is exercise, but I know it will snap me out of it, and so I force myself, and am always glad I did. I give myself permission to stop after 10 minutes if I need to.
Walking is great exercise! Are you currently walking for an hour every day or do you need to build up to it? I started with 20 minutes and am now up to 68 minutes.
I don't know much about Pilates, but I can speak to yoga. Some forms of yoga may not burn a lot of calories, but have indirect benefits that can help with weight loss. Power-style types of yoga will burn calories.
Here's an inspirational video about a disabled vet who was told he would never walk again without crutches. Check out his transformation:

Wow. Thank you for that video, it was very inspirational.
The walking, I do it usually for about 45 minutes, and I am hoing to build up to an hour, and hopefully an hour and a half.
Depression is just... Horrible. It tries to take over and it did that successfully once, but never again. I am feeling like how I first felt when depression hit me, but I am going to try and prevent that from taking over again.
About pilates, I am watching videos of Blogilates and the title of the videos that I follow are usually "Thigh Slimming Exercises" or "Belly Flattener Exercises". These videos usually focus on one part of the body and I do one each day and they BURN. It does feel like I am slimming doen, but is it really?0
