Any dentists or dental hygienists on here? There's so much about lemon/spa water, but wondering if it's worth the risk to your teeth? I've tried it and love it, but don't have the best teeth and am now getting worried.

Anything acidic will erode teeth. I drink my Smoothies through a straw to avoid this.

I love lemon water, but after drinking it for a long time my teeth became sensitive to cold and heat. I don't really drink it anymore because of this but still have it occasionally

    Can you use Sensodyne toothpaste?
    And drink from a straw

I would imagine the viscosity would be too high except for those that could suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

I'm a dental hygienist. Drinking anything acidic obviously creates an acid environment in the mouth which can lead to erosion and sensitivity. It isn't necessarily a bad thing to drink, but I wouldn't do it all day long or keep sipping one because you're just prolonging the exposure time. If you like it...that's fine, but it would be better to drink the whole thing in one shot and be done. Having a little drink of plain water to rinse your mouth after isn't a bad idea.

This is serious business. No joking around or I'll pull this car over and give you kids what you have coming to you.

Thanks everyone. Wasn't asking about shakes (I tend to drink those quickly), just water-based thin drinks (literally lemon, oranges, grapefruit or lime with water). I was drinking it all day. Maybe I'll just stick with once a day and try a straw/rinse after - good suggestions!
