Does anyone know how to add breastfeeding to your profile so that it is taken into consideration for your calories? Thanks!

There is an option for breastfeeding in the database. Or you could add it as exercise. Either way is fine. Exclusively breastfeeding burns around 500 calories so just add that in. It just depends on how much you breastfeed. For example, if you breastfeed and supplement with formula equally, it might be more like 250 calories burned. I hope that helps :-) I am a breastfeeding mama (well now exclusively pumping). Feel free to add me for support.

If you search breastfeeding under the food section, there is a negative calorie entry so it will increase your calorie goal.

Or you can log it as exercise.

Or you can set your calorie goal to maintain and let the BFing create your deficit. Assuming 500 calories for exclusive BFing, if you set to maintaince, you are actually creating a 500 calorie deficit (1lb a week calorie goal). When we added solids I changed it to .5lb a week goal. So that plus about 300 for non-exclusive BFing kept me around the same 1 lb a week goal.

Silly question would you add every time you breastfeed?

I just used one entry for the whole day. It gave me the 500 calories extra for the day (and then when he started eating solids, I used the partial one for 300 a day).
