Am I losing weight at a good pace?

I'm down 55 pounds since August, while I do love that, I used to lose consistently each week, and last week I only lost 1/2 a pound and had a bad day of eating.. And I only lost 0.2 pounds! It's frustrating me, I know over time weight loss is supposed to slow down- yes I change up my food, I don't always exercise but I did do more this week.. I haven't ever been on a diet for this long, by now I would have quit with having not seen much change in weight.. Is this normal? I attached a picture from my weights at weight watchers, I trust their scale more than mine9gsn60pdi8o9.jpeg

If you only weigh once a week then you could have just caught yourself on a day where you're retaining extra water. Weighing every day would give you a clearer picture of what's going on. But I wouldn't worry about it either way. We all have weeks where the scale just doesn't move.

Are you tracking everything properly? Do you exercise?

55 lbs since August is awesome.

I actually do weigh myself every day, but I don't record it, it seemed consistent

55lbs in 8 months translates to about 6.8lbs per month, which I would be just fine with. It's coming off steadily, and when you get frustrated take pics or measurements to compare how far you have come. Did you keep your favorite jeans from when you started? Put em on! It'll help. Remember the fact that you're going slow and steady means you're building habits that will last forever, and that's huge. If you look at my progress, 72lbs in 18 months translates to a much lower 4lbs a month that I am stoked about.

Get an app like HappyScale or Libra that will track your trend weight. It helps if you're an every day weigher.

You seem to be doing fine. As someone else mentioned, it could just be a day of water retention or some other short-term day of gain.

Have you adjusted your calories since starting? Your weight loss may be slowing because your maintenance calories have decreased as you have lost weight.

Congrats! Yes I am going slow and steady, another thing is that with weight watchers you get extra points to eat called weeklies if you want, so I eat them all on one day on the weekend, I really don't want to stop doing that because I enjoy having that one day a week, and I use this app with weight watchers to watch my macros etc

I eat about 1300 a day, but I do weight watchers alongside this and it gives you extra weekly points so you can splurge a bit, which I always do right after I weigh in, and I enjoy having that day so I don't want to quit that, and I feel that switching it up helps by body out to not get into a routine... I'm just afraid of lowering below 1300 a day because I still have 60+ to go so I don't want to get to 1200 and stall out and have no where to go down in calories

Well first, congrats on your 55 pounds! That's seriously great :) Like another poster said, you may have just happened to weigh on an up fluctuation day. You may be retaining water if you had a salty meal. Could be TOTM soon. And there's the fact that you mentioned you don't exercise regularly but you did a lot this week. Just starting exercise, doing new exercise, or suddenly upping your intensity of exercise can result in your muscles hanging on to excess water in order to repair themselves because they aren't used to the activity. This is most likely what's happened to you, but the others are factors to consider as well

When I first start exercising more I will put on a bit of weight. It is my muscles holding the water.

If you compare 2/2 to 4/5, you are down 9 lbs, which is a tiny bit over 4 lbs per month, which translates to about 1 lb per week. I would call that good, healthy progress! Keep it up!

I didn't even think of that! Thank you
