Step tracker calorie question

I am kinda starting over and have been a part of this community for about two years fluctuating in weight for two years. I am currently 365lbs down from 440lbs about a year ago. I am on a streak for logging in and using food diary. One new feature I am not used to is the step tracker for my phone which gives me more calories to use. I am a bit confused about this, should I eat those calories? Aren't these taken into account when when we set up our profile and state that we are active or lightly active? Any clarification would be great.

Personally, I would eliminate the step counter and any activity tracking for that matter.
It's probably better to just account for activity with the prescribed activity level system in MFP. If you're not losing weight at the current setting, then you're activity level is set too high. If you're losing very quickly and very hungry, then it's probably too low - bump it up a level.0
