I would like to add coconut milk to my morning oatmeal. Can anyone recommend a good brand? Is canned coconut milk similar to that in a milk carton?

Canned coconut milk is sometimes called coconut cream and it is a completely different thing to the carton stuff sold as a milk replacement. It's very tasty, but it's super high in fat and calories and definitely not something you're going to put on cereal, though you could put some in oatmeal if you have room for the calories, I suppose. Are you after something thin and low in calories or something to add a lot of richness and fat? For the former, buy cartons of coconut milk (similar to almond milk or skin milk), for the latter, buy canned coconut cream.
Sorry, no suggestions for brands as I prefer almond milk personally...0 -
I really like Silk. It's the only brand I buy.0

I tried unsweetened coconut milk and it tasted like liquid suntan lotion.
If you try it and feel a bit sick, it could be the careegean some milks have in ingredient list.
Watch the sugar added amount.
Make sure you get enough daily calcium in diet if cutting out dairy.
