Kickboxing question

I don't know if anyone can answer this but I joined ILoveKickboxing back in February.
I tried to log in going by the data base here and there is kickboxing, including turbo jam which shows 948 cals burned, or cardiokickboxing, which is about 617cal. I wore my HRM, which has a chest strap but not a watch (It's polar beat) so it uses my phone. Unfortunately, I can't have my phone near me in class so it didn't register my calorie burn or my heart rate.
Any suggestions on what the correct calorie burn might be, or how I can log it?

Those numbers seem pretty high if its an hour class.
The average person should burn around 400 calories in an hour of 'intense' kickboxing. That would involve working your *kitten* off all through it and not breaking every 5 minutes to hold the pads for your partner1 -
The first 15 minutes is all cardio/conditioning I guess you'd say. We run for 2 minutes then go right into burpees then squats jumping jacks froggies, planks, push-ups, etc, without stopping. I'm a ball of sweat at that point. 8 min of stretching, water break, then we hit the bags for about 20 min. Water break, then 5 min of partners. It's pretty intense, as there are not many "scheduled breaks"

Could you buy a holster for your phone so you can just attach it to your pants or something? Or have it in a sports strap on your arm? Is there a reason they don't allow it on you in class, specifically?0

I do kickboxing 3 days a week. And my fitbit usually averages about 645 calories for 45 mins. And I am a hot mess when we are done. My heart rate is usually at 160 for peak. Hope that helps.

They do allow it but I have no place to keep it safely. We are running for the first 15 min then with the activity, not sure where to store it. Maybe an arm band would work though. Thank you.0 -

Thank you! My heart rate is goes up to 170, which is quite high for me (I'm so out of shape!) I'm such a hot mess too. LOL. I've been wearing a headband in hopes to keep the sweat from running down my face and its literally drenched..and yet the sweat continues
But I love it

I love ilovekickboxing.com. I bought a groupon for 10 classes. I can't afford the monthly fee so these 10 classes will be it. It's definitely a good workout though.0 -
