You can't spot reduce. You'll just have to continue your weight loss journey and hope for the best.
But you can always left weights and gain muscle in those areas to make them look nicer, but to lose fat, you can't pick and choose the area

Eat good food, not processed for one. For 2, eat less but not less than 1200 calories a day and do squats, squats, squats. You can't spot reduce but you can firm up and it will give the feeling that your butt and legs are thinner.

Genetics plays a big role on where you store your fat.

Why? Is it because we've (you?) somehow evolved to store processed food in our legs?
OP, you can tighten the muscles in your bum/legs but you can't reduce fat in any particular place on its own.

Lots of squats and lunges with weights and body weight will help shape it good on top of eating good and a little cardio

My best success at this was doing the Beachbody Brazil Buttlift DVD. It was hard work but it transformed my lower body to where I was comfortable for a beach vacation. I unfortunately didn't keep it up after returning and am trying to get back to where I was.
