fitbit scales and such

I just got a fitbit scale, it does weight and bf... How accurate is the bf readings on these type of scales?...
Is it worth getting pissed off at it...lol or is it just a rough guesstimate?...
Thoughts on these and others like them

I think the general consensus is that the BF% is totally inaccurate and should pretty much just be ignored. I also have the Aria scale and I don't really pay any attention to the BF% - it changes by as 8% between 2 weigh ins less than 5 minutes apart.

The bf percentage on the Aria is not accurate. But it's ok for general trends.

This confirms my thoughts, I did a bf test at my doctor last week, not the scale bf and I was 3% lower than what thus says. Then overnight I WS up another 1.5%... I guess I'll just ignore this part... I thought, a free scale... Wtf... I'll take it... Lol

It's at its highest accuracy in the morning after you relieve yourself. You should weigh yourself at the same time every morning if you want the most accurate reading. You should not use it throughout the day, unless you just think it's fun to see how much your weight and water (which I think affects the BF accuracy) fluctuates all day long. I use mine every morning around the same time and circumstances and it's gives me a pretty steady idea of how much body fat I am losing. It may not be an accurate number, but it's consistent which tells me at least how much I am losing. If you want an accurate reading, get BF calipers and then compare your findings which pictures online of people with similar body fat. Then just use the scale to see how much you are losing.
