Chicken Broccoli diet???

OP - ask yourself the following question: Am I going to eat nothing but chicken and broccoli for the rest of my life?
If the answer is no, then here is my advice for you:
1. Enter stats into MFP and set for x amount of weight loss.
2. Eat to the number that MFP gives you.
3. get a food scale and weigh all solid foods, and as many liquids as possible.
4. log everything
5. make sure that you are using correct MFP database entries
6. realize that there are no bad foods and that while the majority of foods should come from nutrient dense sources, there is nothing wrong with having pizza, ice cream, cookies, etc, as long as ones micro and macro needs are met.
7. macro setting are typically .85 grams of protein per pound of body weight; .45 grams of fat per pound of body weight; fill in rest with carbs.
8. find a form of exercise that you like and do it < not necessary for weight loss, but is for overall health and body comp.
I would also recommend reviewing the below sticky from Sidesteel.

I don't see it as anything other than a fad diet. However, I do know a couple that pretty much eat only 6 foods. Chicken, ground turkey, tuna, cottage cheese, brown rice, and broccoli. Every single day.
But, if it works for them....it's not my business. They are both extremely healthy, active, and lean.
She explained to me that they think of food as only fuel for their bodies.
But...they do drink a bottle of wine every evening.

my husband did this diet - chicken rice and broccoli only. he ended up with gallstones and had to have his gallbladder removed. not smart.

While I do like chicken and broccoli, eating only these 2 things, even for only 2-3 days, sounds miserable! Do yourself a favor and forget the gimmick diets. Instead figure out how many calories you need to eat to create a deficit and then eat a balanced diet that includes all the foods you love while staying within that calorie goal.0

I would happily eat chicken, broccoli and rice (with a touch of bbq sauce) 2 times a day indefinitely. But only chicken and broccoli for any period of time is just silly. Don't restrict what you can and can't eat. Eat whatever you want within your calorie/macro limits.0

Salmon and broccoli with either brown rice or (insert random in season fruit here) tends to be my first solid meal of the day unless I'm at work which then is a salad or a blt but every meal no thank you. Even I don't like fish or chicken that much and I'm one of the nut jobs who actually likes granola and rice cakes lol.0

Regardless, I don't think many people want to eat a deficit until they die, but they can eat in a deficit for some period of time. Not sure why that couldn't be extended to a diet's content, if that's what the dieter wants to do.

Nothing wrong with this diet it would be actually quite functional as a low carb/paleo diet. As long as broccoli had some grassfed butter with it and you used some fattier cuts of chicken. You will definitely lose weight assuming that you aren't already lean. However I don't see any issue alternating greens and meats. Good Luck to each there own. I did it and found it very beneficial to get rid of cravings.0
