Starting fresh!

Hello I've been working out on and off for the past 3 months and now I feel it's time to get serious. I am a mother of two, with my youngest being 8months. I lost my "sexy" body after I had him and I'm just ready to get it back!

I think it's important to set goals, but not anything unrealistic. You can't expect to lose 100 pounds in a month unless you cut off your legs. LOL Since you need your legs for exercising, you might want to keep them
I play paintball which is dominated by a bunch of young people. When I first started, it was hard to run and gun with them, so I joined the gym in January with a goal of being able to run along side the young bucks without showing my age. I love riding the stationary bike, so that's where I started, I played music I loved while working out, I played mental games with myself as motivation. For example, I used to imagine riding the bike and some young kid trying to catch me and beat me because I was old. It might sound silly, but it was what made me work hard right up to the end of the workout. I used to play basketball and when I was just out shooting by myself, I'd imagine I was playing a game against someone. I'd run for lose balls like I was being challenged, I'd practice fakes and driving the the basket expecting to be fouled. For me, it was and still is personal head games. sound nutty?? lol Good luck with your workout. Find out what motivates you and use it.

Hi. Add me if you like. I try to remember why I started this journey in the first place which for me was to improve my health and feel better in my clothes. As jammer mentioned above, I do play some head games in the gym to help motivate me during my workouts and make sure I have upbeat music so I can zone out.1

How did you stay motivated?
The point of me saying all that is when I do all of those healthy habits it keeps me focused. I see free muffins packed with sugar in the cafeteria and I don't take them because that's ruin all the hard work I put in this morning. All this soreness would be for nothing.
Plus I have a "treat" set up for myself in August. Vacation in cancun for my birthday with my girls. I won't be able to enjoy myself if I don't give it my all before then. It's basically all psychological. Stay strong sista!

Hey! I LOVE paintballing. I was wondering if you go by yourself or you always go with a group that you know? I always want to go but my friends aren't so into it.

Thanks! I have my birthday set for Miami in October so I'll keep that in mind as my treat! Thehe hardest part for me is my eating habits!.0 -

I actually belong to a Paintball team called the Amherst Skullmonkeys. Check out our FB page. I don't normally go alone but it looks like I will be this weekend. I play in a league and in tournaments once in a while. It's great fun. But don't play woodsball. If you want a thrill, play speedball. That will get your pulse racing1
