No, subtlety is wasted on me and directness just gets rejected. :)

    You sound fun. ;)

I have trouble with social cues - which makes for some pretty funny stories about when I THOUGHT I was being flirted with but I was wrong. :#

I think most people do enjoy it. When I do recognize it, yeah, it feels good. It's like ego massage....For the most part, though I have a hard time recognizing a flirt, even though I enjoy flirting....A woman would pretty much have to ask me for sex before I would recognize it...lol...cry

I invented social awkwardness, so...I get it. As for those stories...OMG, I can't even. You really should share. ;)

Someday there will be a thread and I will consider contributing.

Why is it men say that they are usually not sure that they are being flirted with? Just curious.

I think some guys are very humbled and/or maybe have low self esteem and have no clue how smart, sexy, and cool they are to some women. So they are unsure. Some women on the other hand know when they have sex appeal etc. and pick up on pick up lines, gestures etc. Also sometimes we can send mixed messages and they may not know when we are just being friendly or flirting or both lol.

I do not, it makes me insanely uncomfortable even if I were remotely interested. In my mind you're talking about a stranger approaching me at a public place to flirt, and I'm just too shy. My resting beyotch face helps a LOT to avoid unwanted contact.

The last time I was flirted with/hit on it was actually in a really threatening situation and the guy totally didn't get it and didn't leave it when I said to leave it. It was actually at my place of work (nanny in a family's private residence) and he was there, alone, with me, alone, to install a dryer. Lots of telling me I'm beautiful, saying my eyes were so gorgeous they were distracting him, etc. All perfectly kind things to say but the context was all wrong, I ended up calling his boss and he was let go. He had been a temp or something but yeah, flirting with me with get you ignored or fired.

I guess I'm dense but I never think I am being flirted with.

Correct. I must be locked away in s safe place. Never to see another man ever again.
