Dear friends
This is my third day here. Ten min ago the amount of calories from steps was 531. I've updated my food and the numbers are now four digits . Please , anyone has a solution for that ? I'm sure it isn't correct

That's happened to me on occasion. When you go to your diary on your app, you'll likely see two step adjustments for the same amount of calories instead of one step adjustment. It's just a glitch. Usually goes away once the app is restarted!

And do you guys really believe on the amount of calories burned with steps ? I mean, so I can consider that I'm burning around 599 cals a day plus my metabolic rate (2.200) : 2700 a day then in total ? I am eating 1509 cals a day on average , which is a deficit of 1000cals, if I can take into account the steps and stuff?

Many thanks for all the replies

I consider mine to be pretty accurate! If I just get about 15,000ish steps in a day walking, it'll add maybe 350 into MFP. That seems reasonable. I'm not sure how much you weigh but since you're a dude, I'd assume more than me and would burn more for the same amount of steps. For reference, I'm 5'5 and ~130 lb.

    Great ! Thanks ! You're a star !
I'm not very tall (173cm) and 86kg. Around 13kg to burn (26lbs!). A lot! Years ago I got to 66kg (122lb), but very unhealthy . That's why I got more back...now I want to loose weight but with health. Doesn't matter how long does it take

BUT if I decide to trust this app I should be -10lb in five weeks ! I am controlling everything ...I'm having fun while selecting ingredients and preparing my food! New life ! I gave up smoking also 3 months ago so many reasons to be a better guy

That's great that you gave up smoking! I'm still a smoker... Ick. I intend on quitting soon (so says every smoker).

But yeah, just trust the app and give it a few weeks. If you aren't losing as much as you should, eat a little less. If you're losing too fast, eat more. It's good that you're taking your time. A few weeks to figure it out is just a drop in the pond in the grand scheme of things!

I'm 5"8 and 148lbs and mfp has given me 693 calories for 16,000 steps today. I "try" not to eat them all back, because I still can't believe I burn that many calories from just walking...

ETA: I have a fitbit zip
