Boney knees...

Since losing 26lbs my knees have become uncomfortably boney, to the extent I can't lie on my side in bed without them hurting! My bmi is still 23 so I'm not skinny but am too thin in places (knees shoulders etc) Are there exercises that will pad out around my knees/lower thighs that will help this? Or any other suggestions please??

Put a pillow between your knees when you are sleeping on your side.

Do the stronglifts program for a while. It's good to be strong. :)

I've always had lots of boney prominences. I injured my knee several years ago snowboarding and it only bothers me if I'm laying on my side with my knees touching. I sleep with a pillow between my legs, bought a pillow top mattress which helps, memory foam mattresses help too. The knee itself at least where mine makes contact isn't really an area you can pad out with muscle. I suppose anything that works out your upper legs might work? But my knee is primarily bone and tendon, the muscular part isn't where my legs make contact sleeping. I might have weird legs though! I never thought I'd get used to a pillow between my legs but now I love it!

I do this too. Pillow between the knees! Problem solved!

If you are a female with a broader pelvis relative to the the circumference of your thighs, your knees will touch because you don't have the flesh to separate your knees and they fall down at an angle from your hips. Many people use pillows to separate the knees because it's uncomfortable to have the bones touching, and also puts your back in a better alignment.

I'm a side sleeper, but I've never slept with my knees together as I find it uncomfortable. More uncomfortable now that I've lost weight but that's besides the point.

I still sleep on my side. When I'm on my left side, my right leg is pulled up higher so that the knee touches the bed. I've always found this the most comfortable position though I'm not sure I explained it well lol
