Sooo I tried to do this DVD first thing this morning and I got all jazzed and didnt do it... Ive never been a fan of workout DVDs at all... not sure why I just don't like it at all. Later in the day I went to the gym and tried to walk for a while, and then I had to stop because my shins started hurting (I get bad shin splints when running) so I am assuming I over did it. So I got home and started the DVD ... I actually got into it and then it started hurting like a ...well you know what it hurt like... I got pretty far with breaks when it hurt too much and started doing the ab stuff and that's when it happened..... I HAD A MELTDOWN :( I LAID ON THE FLOOR ON MY BACK AND JUST CRIED AND CRIED. I am so ashamed of myself for getting this out of shape. I give myself kudos for taking these steps in the right direction but this was a big wake up call. :(

I do some workout dvds, when I start a super hard one(Chain smoker)I work on say 10 mins,if I make the 10 min mark for the first week im chuffed. If its agony on me then ill try to do it for 10 mins for the first 2 weeks. From there I literally progress through the dvd.

Please dont give up!!You cant expect to go in,do the whole thing like they do:)Its ok to push yourself but its hard to ask your body to do something it isnt ready for:)

Little bits, boost yourself,my mantra when I hit a super painful area is "i can do it',i have to say it over and over in my head, sometimes out loud but it gets me there.Baby steps.

    Hugs.

I thinki we are all like this in so many ways.. Motivation has to come from within.. The Boot Camp is pretty tough I use to do this workout.. Try working out for 15 minutes a day... Don't be so hard on yourself you are one step closer than you were yesterday... Just keep pushing forward..

You're doing so well, don't give up! You may not think you have, but you've taken a big step which is getting yourself in the gym, and working out to Billy's workout dvd. You've already made the decision that you want to be a healthier, happier person  Shin splints are painful, i've been there too :( Maybe you can try to modify some of the moves, definitely take breaks, do only the first 10 minutes..You can do this girl! :flowerforyou:

Girrrrl, the end of the 1st week with my trainer I had a breakdown too. Not only is it an emotional journey but your hormones are also readjusting to this new, healthy way of life, it's a fact. So keep it up, it does get easier! As far as the shin splints, do you have good shoes? Shoes are super important, I had problems with that as well the first few weeks of my exercise program & it had to do with my shoes. If you have a place where you can have a professional look at how you walk and fit you in the best pair. Usually a running shoe store, and it's really no more expensive than buying Nike or New Balance at the mall. Hope that helps!

Remember what I said....only do what you can and you will work your way up. My ten minute video almost killed me yesterday too but I will do it again because I have to and I want to. Hang in there kiddo we are all here to support you.
