Stones, an explanation.

For all my American pals confused by the British reference to "Stones". A brief explanation. Bathroom scales here are divided in 14 pound segments know as stones. I for example started my weight loss journey at 20 stones (280 lbs) I now weigh 15 stone 7 lbs(217 lbs) I aim to be 13 stones(182 lbs) before I finish. Strange as it may sound most British people cannot visualise a persons weight when referred to in pounds alone. I know this sounds archaic but it's what we know. So please bear with your British pals.

I kind of like the idea of stones because it makes it sound like less weight. Maybe that's just me? 14 stones sounds smaller than 204 pounds. However, there's more math involved doing it that way  Haha..oh man, am I lazy when it comes to simple math or what?!

The only thing i don't understand about it is that it seems kind of silly to measure something as small as a person in such a large measurement.

    But to each their own.

That's ok, you use stones and we'll use yards and miles instead of the logical meter...

The great advantage of stones as I see it, is it gives defined achievable goals each time you step on the scales.

Just to put the record straight. There seems to be this belief that we use metric system for distance. Hell no that's a French invention. We could NEVER EVER use that. We use feet, yards and miles. Plus others I guarantee you will never have heard of. Lol.
