Thanks! I didn't change my eating dramatically. Mainly smaller portions, less frequent so-called treats, focus on protein and fruits/veg. I've been ovo-lacto vegetarian for 41 years, and tend to eat foods I cook myself from scratch, plus similar whole-foods-like things when I eat out. I did make a habit at first of reviewing my diary, looking for things that were caloric but not carrying their load in terms of tastiness, satiation, or nutrition. That led to me eating relatively fewer carb-y things (pasta, bread), mainly because I don't loveLove them and they have more calories, but I'm in no way doing "low carb".
I didn't change my activity level hugely, either: I've been a rower for 12 years, plus active in other ways. Losing a bit of fat layer seems to have uncovered some muscle.3 -
I did this last year by eating healthy & going to the gym all in 5 months :-) I have recently got back in the swing of thing as I have gained afew pounds. But I have a new goal now to get down to 10 stone :-).

Awesome job everyone!
I would love to see an update from those who posted on this thread way back in 2014. Are you still on the site? Have you maintained/lost/gained?9 -
Wow, some amazing transformations here. Mine isn't that drastic, but I'll add it to the pile.

I started on December 18th 2016 and have lost a total of 37 pounds. I changed two things: I increased my water intake to 1-2 liters a day and added 30 minutes of cardio at the gym 5 days a week. More so than the weight loss, I have gained strength, endurance, and energy from committing to working out. This is the first time in my life that I feel confident in my ability to maintain my weight loss because of making exercise a part of my life. About 3 weeks ago I finally became brave enough to step on the treadmill and I've worked myself from walking at 3.6 to jogging at 5.1 for a mile to running at 5.8 for 2 miles!
And my confidence is up too... I used to get asked when I was due... If it was a boy a girl... Even by the mail man who is still the mail man. I was so shocked when he asked that I said I was 5 months... I've avoided him ever since... ;( I don't have to worry about that any more!

I've been losing my focus lately, but today I found some old pics of me and felt motivated again!! Oh gosh I still have some pounds to lose, but I feel so much better knowing I do NOT look like in the before photos anymore.. I started at around 183 pounds (83Kg) and now I am at 149 (67.5 kg)

I have a long way to go, but I'm happy with my progress so far. Its getting harder and harder to keep up with the progression though, or its taking longer and longer to see minor differences but im determined to get there.

6 months recomp from top left to bottom right.
Weight increased from 75kg to 80kg.
Lost bodyfat.
Got injured from boxing, stopped training, ate like crap, lost a bit of muscle mass and gained a bit of fat in the last few months.
Would like to get to at least 10% bodyfat within the next 4 months whilst maintaining muscle mass.43 -

I think I am having the same mental issues like my husband Dave is having, (Dave_Getting), in regards to our weight loss and fitness. Yes, I know I have lost weight, (I recently bought pants that were 4 sizes less than last year), and I feel great. But, I think I still picture myself inside as that person I looked like in the photo on the left. Sure, I am the same nice and honorable person as I was then, but look and feel different today!
Wow way to go! What a difference!12 -
