Cravings

Hello everyone. I'm new to this, and my struggle is craving sweets, how long does that last? I have along way to go but I know it's gonna be worth it. My plan so far is the 21 day fix workout program. I do a protein shake for breakfast. Then light lunch and light dinner. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Cravings rarely go completely away, but you can do a lot by not undereating, but eating a well rounded diet; not depriving yourself of food you like while eating foods you think you should eat; and, depending on your type, either keeping typical binge foods out of the house and instead reserve it for special occasions OR indulge in a small portion often.

Yup, if you crave the things you enjoy, then just limit them, don't completely cut them out.

I eat a piece of fruit or dark chocolate. But it helps to consider why you have cravings. Is your blood sugar stable? Do you crave them more when you're tired, stressed, etc? You might need more sleep, stress management, more frequent meals, etc. Another option is to work on resetting your palate for sweets. Eat whole foods, avoid added sugar and artificial sweeteners, and pretty soon ordinary sweets taste too sweet - makes it harder to overindulge.
