Body type changed as lost weight and gained fitness

Has anyone else had this, I always thought I was a pear shape. Fat always went to the lower half of my body and I was small on top. This time my goals are more fitness based and since I've added weights I think my body type has changed. My hips are much smaller than I ever thought possible. I always thought ur body type stayed the same. Is this because of the exercise? I'm also not trying to lose weight but get fitter and more muscle. My weight has stayed the same but I've lost inches from my hips and bust
