How to STOP binge eating

Guys! Please do some research about veganism (high carb low fat)! And take your time watching 'the vegan couple' and freelee the banana girl on YouTube.
I used to binge a lot too! But the main reason for that is because you have a huge calorie deficiency and your body needs those calories. That's where the cravings come from. Then your brain 'searches' for high calorie foods which are most likely processed and unhealthy.
Remember! Your body does not burn all calories at the same rate! The vegan couple on YouTube did a self experiment on it awhile ago. One of them was disabled to work out due to injuries and ate 3500 kcal every day! But did not put on weight!

ITS NOT ABOUT HOW MUCH U EAT, ITS ABOUT WHATYOU EAT!

And before you try to tell me something about 'nutrient' deficiency, please do some research on that topic beforehand.

I hate Freelee. I've been looking into and transitioning to plant-based eating, but I sure as hell won't follow that quack. There are vegans out there with abysmal cholesterol numbers (high LDL and low HDL) because of the Super high carb ultra low fat fad. Moderation in macros is best. There's nothing wrong with some healthy fats.

I lost over 80 lbs in the past year and I was not vegan.

I ate whatever I wanted, as long as it was less calories than I burned.

    Buy my book/DVD/fitness gear/food! ;)

Science has proven otherwise, and like many other members on here will tell you from their own experience, they have lost weight eating whatever they want as long as they managed a calorie deficit. Eating 3,500 k calories a day will not make someone gain weight. Eating 3,500 kcalories a day OVER what your TDEE is will make you gain weight, so its not a surprise he didn't gain weight eating 3,500 kcalories. Its not about plants or vegan based diets, its simple math and science. :) As far as binge eating, a calorie deficit will not create a binge. I know because I've eaten well within my calorie range and STILL occasionally binge.

Calories are a unit of energy. Your body doesn't "process" them at all. Calories represent the amount of energy available in a certain food source. You can replace them with Joules if you prefer, and in fact if you look at nutrient lables you will see that you can often find the energy equivalent in Joules.

Your body does not process all nutrients in the same way depending on their source. For instance, plant proteins are indeed less easily digestible than animal proteins. The amount of fiber and a lot of other factors come into play. So the amount of energy (Calories or Joules) available to your body will indeed be different depending on the source of nutrient.

    BUT

All in all, the difference this accounts for is minimal. I do not remember the exact percentage of energy that may get "lost" in the digestion and absorption process, but it is not really significant and mostly concerns proteins, which are the macronutrient that go through the most complex process of absorption. Carbs and fats are pretty much always absorbed at the same rate, regardless of the nutrient source.

So really, the only time that is relevant is if you are a stable weight, and increase your intake of fiber, and plant products WITHOUT increasing your total energy intake. Your body will be able to uptake less energy, and you will lose weight. And even then the effects will probably be limited.

In practice, without trackign you have no idea if you are increasing, decreasing or keeping your energy intake stable.

@hiyomi already said everything else there is to say.

All I have to say about nutrient deficiency is: Vitamin B12. Although if you live in the US you are lucky enough to have all flours and cereal fortified with it, so you might not even run the risk of developing a deficiency.

Hm i would like you to explain me how plant based vegans can have 'absymal cholesterol levels'. Plants do not contain any cholesterol so the body will produce the right amount of the good cholesterol.
