Your most intense pain ever?

Having three teeth pulled without without being numbed. Close second dual kidney stones.2

Multi-disc herniation. By far, worse than gallstones and unmedicated childbirth.1

I had a gangrenous twisted ligament in my groin in my mid-teens. It flared up a day after doing some sit-ups in PE class. Couldn't walk without pain but had to to get to a doctor who decided to poke and prod it.
Surgeons tried to push it back in thinking it was a hernia. Didn't know it was the ligament until they took the thing out. Probably my most painful experience ever... so far.1 -
Both motorcycle related....
Car pulled out on me and I almost managed to swerve past his from bumper (US=fender) - took full impact on my knee, ruptured posterior cruciate ligament and bucket-handle tear of lateral meniscus. Ligament snapping is apparently one of "the big three" pain episodes. Felt like it.
First time racing rode my evil handling bike straight into the Armco barrier at about 80mph, bent the steel handlebars with my knees, crushed the fuel tank with my "gentleman's vegetables". Came round minus my crash helmet with head, knees and nuts competing for first place in the pain stakes.1 -
I've had the popped knee multiple times, it's great compared to a kidney stone.nitroalley wrote: »First kidney stone. You could have cut me open with a rusty knife.
Ain't that the truth! I've had 'em 4 times now, and the first... I simply can't describe it. I tore my ACL and meniscus, I've suffered migraines... nothing like kidney stones. My wife, who gave birth 4 times (including one C-section) had kidney stones. She said, in her opinion, the pain was worse than childbirth.1 -
I had a basketball sized tumor removed from my abdomen. Since they wanted to get a good look all surrounding organs to be sure the cancer didn't spread, they sliced me up the middle past my belly button. Waking up from that surgery was the worst pain ever. They had me on morphine which didn't even come close to touching the pain. I mean...even with morphine, it was still a 10. I just remember sobbing and not being able to sleep for my entire hospital stay. I don't know why it hurt so bad, I mean people have abdominal surgery all the time. Because of that experience, when my second son was breech I was terrified of being given a cesarean. I ended up giving birth in a hospital that specialized in naturally delivering breech births. It worked.1

I have chronic pain from crohn's and almost always in pain. It is excruciating when I am in a flare. I also broke my leg in three places which wasn't fun and have had lots of overuse injuries and achilles tendonitis.0

I've had three c sections.0

Kidney stone1

Dental pain, had 7 abcesses under a molar, even breathing hurt.1

I got rear-ended. I was stopped and she was doing 40.
I didn't break anything, amazingly, but my right leg was a giant bruise from ankle to hip, the next day I couldn't turn my head so much as a quarter inch in either direction. I got good drugs and physical therapy for 3 months and I'm fine now, that was 10 years ago. I only wish I had sued the stupid twit.1 -
Ruptured a disk, ouch! That sounds extremely painful, I've had buddies who have been medically discharged for back issues, that being one of them. Worst "pain" I've experienced was waking up a day after having testicular torsion surgery, it was a very bad groin pain. Actually made me throw up a couple of times in pain. It only lasted for a day or two but it was worst than an ACL tear, right thumb tendon laceration and Lasik eye surgery.1

In January I had eight kidney stones, all too large to pass and one stuck in my "duct work". Three surgeries in two and a half weeks.
And the worst part, there are more forming that they cannot do anything with YET! Sigh.....1 -
I've been stabbed, shot and burned, but the worst pain I have suffered is from Gout.2

Hands down, giving birth to my 1st child, without the benefit of any pain medication. There IS no greater pain. Ladies, if you have the choice, TAKE THE EPIDURAL.
I have to agree with this. 36 hour labor with my first son. Not all those hours were excruciating but the last 10, I almost had to have an outer body experience to cope. No drugs? WTF was I thinking. TAKE THE EPIDURAL!!!2 -
Stubbed my toe once10

I will say this, I would go through disc herniations, unmedicated childbirth, stab wounds, broken bones, tooth extractions, etc. any day to never experience the unexpected death of a loved one. THAT HURTS!!! Not to diminish the physical pains people have mentioned but a mourning broken heart tops them all to me. That's just me though.4

Hands down when I had a staph infection on my arm. My mom and I had no idea what it was, and my aunt who was studying nursing told us to drain it. My mom squeeze it and I could hear and feel it "pop" and then all of the infection started coming out. I was shaking and crying and throwing up and almost passed out. It was so bad that mom took me to the doctor and he told us what it was and how bad it was. Definitely learned to never, ever squeeze an infection! Bad idea. Still have the scar and everything.0

kidney infection or when my jaw snaps back after locking from tmj0

I had a hangnail last week. Oh my heavens...4
-
A combination (all at once) of endometriosis, fibroids, a twisted ovary, and blocked fallopian tubes. That was definitely the worst! Second place would be Basillar migraines - my whole head, face, and ears felt like they were being stuck into a vice squeezed to the max.1

My third child was 9lbs 12 oz..she was born completely drug free and broke my pelvis on the way out. Not pretty.1
-
But seriously...prostatitis combined with epididymitis.1
-
Some might think I would say it was my broken back (L1,2,3, and 4), ruptured spleen, or my ruptured colon or the fact that I suffered them all at once. However, they fail in comparison to my first heartbreak. That still hurts!2

Kidney stone, never felt pain like it!1

I was about 12 pounds....40 stitches later, I made my way out....messed up my mom's hips for life. I feel like I made up for it by a) immediately and consistently sleeping 11 - 12 hours through the night and b) giving my dad my kidney so she could keep her husband for a little longer6 -

When I had mine, the nurse in the ER told me that women who've had kids and kidney stones have told her there was more pain with the stones.1 -
IUD insertion with no pain meds. It only lasted 15 seconds, but I almost passed out. I've had plenty of painful experiences (tattoos in places with just bone) but that one was nothing like anything I've ever felt before.0
