I don't like the term 'cut', it's too ambiguous and could mean different things to different people. We need to be more specific.

how is "cut" ambiguous? it is pretty clear, i.e. cutting weight. You have three choices = Gain/Bulk, cut, maintain - those are all pretty self explanatory.

When I hear the term cut I think of losing fat while trying to preserve as much muscle as possible. Is that not what it is? Maybe I'm wrong

what was your body fat % when you started your bulk?

Around 12% according to calipers (yes, low). Not sure how accurate that was though. Around 14% now.

Cut is the only thing that will get rid of fat. So if you are the unhappy, you will have to cut. If you want to keep adding muscle, you will have to continue following a structured program and deal with it temporarily knowing that your greater goals are more important than shot term looks.

I've barely built any glute muscle so, on that basis, would it be better to continue for now and hope I can shed the fat afterwards? I wouldn't be cutting down to anything right now.

I would keep course. You are probably overly aware of your body due to the changes.
