Are all protein powders safe? If you drink 1 or 2 times/day, do you eat anything else? Are they supposed to be meal replacements?

Protein powders are just a convenient way to get more protein into your day. They are NOT meal replacements.

Typically, people add protein powder to other things to get more protein than they would otherwise. For example, it goes well with oatmeal, cold cereal, and peanut butter.

By itself, just mixed in water or something, it would be a pretty lousy "meal". Though in the context of a day, it could be something to do. IMO, food is best thought of in a daily context rather than as individual items. Even better, in terms of a longer period like a week.

    They're plenty safe.

Are the all safe? Generally speaking yes. Some companies will spike their protein loads with amino acids, but they are still safe.

For me, they constitute one or two my 5-6 meals a day.

Depends on how you take it. If you want it for a meal replacememt which is what i do for breakfast my protein sgake has fruits veggies plant based protein powder and yoghurt so i can a balanced meal. But if you just drink it shaken in some almond milk or something then no its not a meal replacement. But if you do drink protein powders on top of your regular diet it will add quite a bit of calories. But i use it as a breakfast meal replacement.

I get mine from trader Joe's. They carry a couple of powders including some smaller sized bottles. If you have one near you, I would recommend trying them out. They are also very reasonably priced

Nkkxjohnson: thank you but I'm from Singapore and we don't have Trader Joe's. By the way, would Superfood powders be a close equivalent to protein powders?

You could try ordering online if you can find a decent one in the store. I've never heard of superfood powders. Can you post a link that lists the ingredients and macros?

I'm in Australia and don't have the huge selection America has either.
