I am not sure about the Chalean Extreme progam exactly, but I have done just about all of her Turbo Jam DVD's, I got them a couple of years ago after I put on 20lbs, and I loved them! I did one DVD a day, workout ranging from 20 minutes to 45 minutes, and I lost 25lbs in less than two months! I loved them! They were high energy and FUN! Each workout gave you different levels to exercise out so you could do the same workout no matter your fitness level and work your way up. I continued to do them for over a year to stay in shape.
After I got a new job a year ago, a desk job, I kind of fell off the wagon, quit exercising and gained 20lbs back. I plan to start doing my DVD's again and I am seriously thinking about investing in the Chalean Extreme. Just from my experience with her other workout DVD's I would highly recommend it over any other programs I have tried; Tae Bo, Pilates, Yogalaties, etc...

The ChaLean Extreme program is VERY well done. I'm finishing up my 4th week of it (the first month is the Burn workouts) and loving it!! Let me know if you have ANY questions about it!

Hi Dragonfly! Accountability really does help! What questions did you have about ChaLean? So far most of the workouts are 30-40 min in length but really intense! Slower lifting and fun interval cardio. HTH!

I've read through this thread and it seems that Chalean Extreme is definately worth it. I love her Turbo Jams and have just about every one of them. My concern is - does it work you out enough for a high calorie burn for weight loss or is it more weight lifting for the tone after weight loss. I may have missed the answer to this on the web site. Thanks for any info in advance!
I am not an expert at all. Far from it actually but I have always heard the more muscle that you gain the more calories that you will burn in the long run. So even if it doesnt have alot of cardio in there for the high calorie burn you are still doing somethng right for your body.0 -
There are so many things that I want right now. I want this DVD and I want a Bosu and I go to the gym almost everyday. Yesterday I did an hour of step and then came home and did 30 day shred. BUt I really really want this DVD. Just have to wait until we catch up from the holidays.

This is *so* worth it! It's not just one DVD, it comes with 12 workouts, a motivational and kitchen makeover DVD, nutrition and workbook. It is awesome! I'm on week 4 now and really seeing changes in my shoulders & abs!!

Oh, man... Burn Circuit 2 kills me! By the time I get to the bicep curl w/lateral leg lifts I'm toast!!! Tonight I teach yoga and bellydance... it'll be good to get extra stretching in. I've had to up my calories a lot today, though, because of those two classes... I admit to drinking some calories extra just to make sure I get enough. Oy!0

I was wondering if the Chalean Extreme program really worked the abs, buttocks, and legs? Any of you ladies getting sexy abs and legs from the work outs? ha ha
I really want to make sure this is the right program for me verses P90x or any other programs :bigsmile:0 -
I'm only on week 1 so far but I love this program! I need some heavier weights but I am still SO sore!!!! I've never been this sore in the back of my thighs.. It's awesome! Chalene and her 25 pound weights :noway: .. I'm standing there all sweaty and shaky with my little 5 pounders... LOL But seriously, I really need to work on my diet.. BIG surprise there guys! Oh well, I'm going to try to stick to this and try to get through my workout today even though I'm still so sore... :grumble:

Glad that you are enjoying them!! Yes, Chalene really works the legs & glutes!! Squats, lunges, and I love those bowler's lunges! I am using 30# for the lower body, love it! Keep it up, you will love the results! I'm getting ready for week 6 and am down 4#!! :bigsmile: Yes, eating clean will really help!

Me me!!! My waist is shrinking and I am seeing changes in my lower abs, shoulders, and legs the most so far! I love P90X also, but after using it for a good year and a half I was ready for a change! It's working great for me! Let me know if you have questions!

I have been working out for a couple of years doing core ball, resistance bands free weights + lots of cardio, Tae bo, pilates and yoga. I decided to order TJ - it still hasn't gotten here:grumble: It sounded like she required heavier weights than I am used to to see results. Right now I use 10lbs w/ my core ball in a 50 min workout and 5-7 lbs in my cardio in the 60 minute work out. ChaLEAN sounds like it is a little advanced for me, at least in terms of the weight. Guess I'll try TJ first then see how that goes. How long before you moved up and what were you doing before?0 -

Hi there! I was a cardio queen before a couple years ago when I started lifting weights. (mainly a runner before injuries) Sorry your TJ hasn't gotten there. Have you contacted customer service? I've never had to wait more than 5 days for my orders! What size weights do you have? You can also use resistance bands instead of weights, Chalene has a modifier showing how to use them as well.
I love TJ, they are a lot of fun! I was doing P90X (another BB program) before ChaLean so I have gotten used to lifting heavier weights. It's changed my body like I never thought (I bought into that myth that women will get *bulky* from weight training) and now I love it! I can do full pullups, lots of pushups, and feel strong and fit! Let me know how you like TJ!
