Stop weighing yourself. Get the tape measure.0

the tape really is a better judge of how you are doing
I don't feel bad about weighing in first thing in the morning stark naked though!

I always weigh myself first thing in the morning after I have been to the toilet.
I think it is more important to weigh yourself at a simliar time each day and then you can monitor any weight loss / weight gain0 -
I weigh in the morning and at night, and I track both weights in a spreadsheet. I do think morning is the most accurate, but it is nice to see both weights going down.0

If you weigh yourself at the end of the day, you are getting your weight, plus all the food and water in your system. Your true weight is first thing in the morning after you use the washroom. As others have stated the scale is not the best measure of progress. Pay attention to how you look and feel and how your cloths fit. And try only weighing in once a week or once every 2 weeks instead of multiple times/day.0

If you are someone who 'needs' to see numbers, whatever you do, do it consistently. I think morning is best, because while you are asleep at night, your body has the chance to digest all of your food that you've eaten throughout the day. At the end of the evening, depending on when you go to get after dinner to evening snack, your body hasn't finished doing its thing yet. I personally weigh myself on Monday mornings.
As already mentioned above (which reminds me I need to do that this weekend....), measuring tape is really the way to go. Where the scale says you only lost 10 pounds, you may have lost 20 lbs of fat, but gained 10 lbs of muscle! Your measuring tape is the only way to really show how 'healthy' are you getting.
My goal is to lose 40 pounds, however, if I can get back into my five 5 jeans and only loss another 15 lbs, I'll take it! It should be about how you look and feel, not about the number on a scale!0 -
Every day when I get up. If it's not to my liking. I just drink some water and say there's tomorrow.0

I agree with those that say use a tape measure, or go by how your clothes fit. You will be losing weight, but hopefully gaining muscle (which burns fat faster, but weighs more than fat), so you can't really go by the scale. I would weigh first thing Monday morning... once a week- not every day. I'm not sure how much you need to lose. It'll take time, but it WILL happen! Good luck!0

I weight in the morning after I have potty and and naked. I use my clothes as a good judge of exactly how well I am doing. Once it starts loosening up, even if the scale hasnt moved, I am good. Also, when I can see some resemblance of my collar bone, or one love handle versus two, I know I am doing great.

I agree tape measure or scale just be consistent about the when part of it to have a more controlled and accurate reading.
i look at it like science or math...take out as many conflicting variables that would throw things off and be consistent to get accurate results.
So if you feel like you are at a more true body weight at mid afternoon then always weigh at midafternoon and don't make yourself nutty by trying to weigh sometimes in the am and then other times in the pm because it will all be thrown off.0 -
I weigh pretty much every morning. Use to be real OCD about the numbers. Like others have stated it is more reliable to take measurements. I remember a month that i only lost a pound and when i did my measurements I had lost about 9 inches. The reason you weigh more at night is because your body had food and water in it.0
