Why the HECK would you do that?6

That's really not a healthy or sustainable way to lose weight.3

For last 15days I was on intermittent fast.... Plus it was a low key weekend with no activity.... That's how I made up my mind to try 36hours water fast.... It was smooth as butter... No fatigue just a Lil hunger pangs that's it.... Hoping for a detox...0 -

I know, thus was for the weekend only.... Was Lil confused on breaking the fast.... I was thinking of keeping it clean with fruits.0 -
36 hours is not a long enough time to worry about breaking fast, but I would keep it to liquids for the first couple of hours, preferably some kind of fresh vegetable juice (I like carrot or tomato juice for that). Fasting this long is not really that necessary though, but some people enjoy it. As long as you don't go overboard fasting for longer periods you should be fine.0

Hoping for a detox...
If your kidneys and liver are functioning, your body is already "detoxing" itself on its own. A water fast is not going to detox you.15 -
You will have just lost water weight, and will regain it all back unless you have a healthy long-term strategy for eating the foods you like within your calorie limit.
"Detoxing" is pseudoscience.
Well done for asking questions here. The forum Community can be very helpful.

Is he fasting for weight loss or for some other reason. It's a little mysterious. Ah "detox", never mind.0

He seems to be fasting for 'detox' ... I can't even find the strength within to tackle this nonsense one one more time...4 -
*drink fresh vegetable and fruit juice*0

Something small - it doesn't matter what it is as long as it's only a few hundred calories. Four or five hours after that I can eat a full meal without any issue.0

You should only ever break a fast with 10 ring donuts, glazed with Nutella dipping sauce. Nothing else!! Otherwise it was all in vain.11

Why water fast?0

I make sure I break a fast with protein powder or any other source of complete protein.0

No...strength.....to........fight...........nonsense................
Quick get this girl some Vitamin Water!3 -
Hello .. Congrats on finishing your fast. I know that fasting is very therapeutic. Most people "do not get it". Anyway, I find that yogurt is a very good fast-breaker.0

Let me guess, me sharing the scientifically proven and medically accepted fact that a water fast does not detox your body and that a functioning liver and kidneys do all the "detoxing" your body needs means I'm one of the people that "do not get it"?
If you want to do a water fast (or any other fast) to make your self feel better mentally, go for it, but it will not cause a detoxing of your body. You can't change a scientific fact by merely wanting a different result.7 -

In other words, you're entitled to your own opinions, but you're not entitled to your own facts.
People who keep it sensible and don't fall for weight loss fads and gimmicks are the ones who "DO get it".6 -

I'm not a fasting or "detoxing" follower but to each their own. I'd try a vegetable juice cleanse for a couple days if it was organic and made fresh but I just love food too much. I used to think all fasting was nonsense but the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" changed my mind. My friend made me watch it as she was doing a cleanse.. 30 days of only fresh vegetable juice.. That was almost 4 years ago and it has seriously changed her life. Again, it's not for me but hope it works out for you. Be safe. Try vegetable soup perhaps..?0

"Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" is just a really long infomercial for those juicers he sells.3
-
Lol! I didn't know he sold juicers? Then you're probably right0

I used to do 24-48 hour water fasts often enough when I was religious. That time frame isn't big enough to cause any major stomach problems when breaking fast. You should be fine as long as you stay away from foods that are too greasy or cause acid reflux.0

I have resumed intermittent fasting.... 36hours fast was piece of cake.... I was able to devour spicy prawns curry and salmon fry last night... I had this funny feeling that I may have problem with spices after the fast but I guess my body is quite comfortable to handle it.
