Protein!

You should aim to eat your weight in protein (in grams). So if you weigh 100lbs you should aim for 100g of protein per day, then I would say your carbs vs fats are fine with whatever works for you. Protein is important for a healthy diet though for growing and retaining muscle. Also make sure you're getting enough fruits and vegetables with your carbs.

So someone weighing 300lbs should aim for 300 grams of protein? No
Speaking in absolutes is never a good idea.1 -
Hi @cassandra_glebavicius. It looks like you meant this to be a response to another post.

That's actually a very high amount compared to current recommendations for the average person (non athlete/serious lifter). Why are you suggesting this amount? Do you have a link so that people may evaluate your advice? Thanks.0

I think that's a loose guideline if you are weighing yourself in the metric system. Or I've also heard a gram per pound of lean body mass, but 1g per pound is a bit much, IMO.1

My goal is 70 grams a day.
My minimum is 46 grams a day.
Focus on nutrition and health and you will win.1 -
Huh? :huh:0

I aim for 70g of protein too, no way could I eat 199g. I don't do weight lifting for exercise (mainly cardio) so don't feel I need too much protein anyway.1
