Late night cravings... What to do against

I been working on and off on loosing weight. Lately I been doing really well during the day. Good portion control and clean food.
Unfortunatly about 30 min after dinner I begin to crave bread and chocolate to a point where I am getting restless. Been trying to work against it by eating carrots and cucumber but it's not really helping.
I thought it might have to do with cutting out sodas and juice recently but I am not sure

Does anyone has the same problem? And what are you doing about it? I don't wanna mess up a day of hard work by giving in to this craving.

Are you still hungry after dinner? Do you have calories left to eat after dinner?
If not, are your weight loss goals set too aggressively, giving you not enough calories for the day?

Can you save some calories for a bed-time snack of chocolate or bread? Nothing wrong with a snack of chocolate in moderation.

I too have this problem. For some reason, I just have to have something sweet. It is not a hunger, as I eat a sufficient healthy dinner, but a serious craving for something sugary. I also get really restless. However, I have also found that if I indulge at all, I get a sugar rush that makes it hard for me to sleep.

My solution is to just try to keep my hands busy doing something else until the craving goes away. Computer games, jigsaw puzzles, knitting, even coloring (which has become a great new fad) can help.

Good luck, let us know how it goes!!

You know, I kind of have this issue too, but then I realized it wasn't about being hungry, it was almost every time I sat down to watch TV, within minutes I would have these intense salt and sugar cravings. At work or elsewhere, when I am doing something else, I don't have that problem. So I added a high protein afternoon snack before dinner to time my dinner a little later than as soon as I get home. Also being aware of this bad personal habit has helped. I sometimes will knit or Pinterest or do meal prep while watching TV instead- and my cravings have mostly gone. It is crazy how much your mental state can affect your perception of hunger- at least, I have found this to be true in my situation.

It is hard- I wish you good luck!

I was just writing that post and I missed yours lol! Keeping my hands and head busy has helped a lot.

If you still have calories left go ahead and eat. Time of day does not effect whether you will lose or not, calories in vs calories out does. I work chocolate into my calorie goal almost every day, that way I don't overdo it. I just have a little and I'm happy because I know I can have it.
If you don't have calories left then you should try to find a distraction but don't deprive yourself of something you enjoy. The only way this is going to work is if you can sustain it long term.
