Nutri blast buddy?

Hello all! I'm new to MFP and have just started out on a path that will, hopefully, lead me to a healthier lifestyle...and weight! I live in Shropshire, UK, have 34lbs to lose and think I'm going to need some help along the way, especially as I'm 59 and not keen on exercise ! My tendency is to start on a new adventure/project/diet with huge enthusiasm and gusto and then, if I 'take a break' for whatever reason (holiday etc.), I find that I just 'cannot' get back into it. That's where the Nutri blaster comes in - I'm hoping that I will train my body/taste buds etc. to enjoy the healthier foods, rather than all the carbs and fats and sugar that they crave - so far, so good, but I'm not even a week in yet . I live in a Buddhist community and we all eat together in the evenings...and that can be a real problem for me, trying to exert portion control!
So, are there any other Nutri-blasters out there who would be willing to 'hook up' online....both for mutual support and perhaps to share a recipe or two ?

You don't have to eat/drink extreme stuff to be healthy. You can keep it up for a little while, but if you don't like it, it won't stick. Your experience has told you that. And why would you - you can eat anything to lose weight, and most foods can be part of a healthy diet. Isn't Buddhism all about moderation and balance?
Oh, I have a Nutribullet too, just used it to make a peanut butter-banana-chocolate smoothie, and it was delicious!2 -
I have one and use it everyday!0

Hi Kommodevaran - You're absolutely right about Buddhism being all about moderation and balance! It's also about 'right effort' and, knowing myself reasonably well (and knowing that I need to lose weight), I am trying to reduce my cravings for the rubbish food and introduce enjoyment for the healthy (not necessarily 'extreme'!) stuff.... at the moment, it's working! I am enjoying my blasts and, as raw veggies/fruit contains more nutrients etc., I find it more pleasant/easier to drink them rather than eat them! So long as I watch my calorific intake during the day, I am able to give my sweet tooth a treat now and then - yesterday I had a delicious strawberry/melon/yoghurt smoothie, as well as a slice of toast with peanut butter !1

I was told by a Dietitian, that any nutrients lost during cooking; aren't significant. So your food'll still be nutrient rich, if you cook them.1

That's interesting! I have no idea how many nutrients are lost by cooking, but thank you!

I don't know either & I didn't care to ask, once she gave that answer because if it isn't significant, then it doesn't matter because you'll still receive enough & your welcome.1
