does anyone do pilates regularly?

Looking for people that for their exercise do pilates. I just got my machine recently but my VCR is broken so I am doing the chart exercises. Its a great workout but really works your core. I have rheumatology problems and this is easy on my joints. I just want to meet people who do pilates regularly and, me being a beginner, maybe you have some suggestions. Or if you are new to it to we can share our journey. Thanks!!

I do. Which machine are you referring to? I attend classes mainly, and if I cannot go I use a mat, exercise ball and ring at home. If you mean you have invested into something like a reformer or cadillac, I must say I am impressed at giving the money for something like this as a beginner, but personally I would still start with the basics, i.e. a mat.1

aggeliklik - so glad to hear you do. Its such a great form of exercise. That is great you go to classes. I, after mulling it over and weighing the pros and cons, brought the reformer and got the rebounder too I did not know you could do pilates without the machine. (Blush) But I am doing well and more important I feel good when I do it. How long have you been going to classes or doing pilates at home? I may look around my area for classes. Feel free to add me as a friend. I'd love to talk more. Thanks again for your comments.0

I have done on and off pilates for a few years. Regularly, as in at least twice per week, the last one year and a half. To be honest, I do not like the pilates machines much, so I cannot offer really help there. from my personal experience, if you can find classes near you, give it a try. It is very hard to figure out if you are doing things right on your own. In pilates, form and breathing matter.1 -
I do both reformer and mat pilates regularly. I'd take a few reformer classes first. It's easy to think you're doing the exercises correctly when you're not.1

I do Pop Pilates but have trouble enduring through all the exercises. Usually I would skip workouts for a whole week but now I am going to try to stick with it.1

You hit a nerve with me about the machine. I am wondering about form and breathing. There is a chart that tells you how to position your body. But like with Yoga, which I took a lot of, you need an instructor. I will look for classes. I really appreciate your input.0

Yes that is one thing I'm worried about. Even though the chart says like keep shoulders wide, etc. But another person that replied said your breathing should be monitored too. I will look into reformer classes and mat classes. Thank you.0 -

What us Pop Pilates? Never heard if it. I understand about trouble enduring. Don't push it. Try to stick with it. You gain endurance if you do it more frequently. I do it everyday unless my MS is acting up or I have a migraine.
Feel free to add me as a friend. I can't figure it out. VERY annoying.
Thanks for your reply.
