Members of this forum are generally really nice but i must admit when people post the 'rate the person above' type threads I can't help but think people over or under estimate the ratings. I've noticed that a few good looking people (my opinion) get rated down where the less attractive people (again my opinion) get rated up. Let's just be honest

i know and then its like those people in the date/marry threads where some of them say they'd marry more than one person which isn't even possible except if they were in a certain sect of mormonism where polygomy is OK
or some of the super mean and untrue things people say in that stupid thread about how you're going to die. I mean i got "ice pick to the eyeball" when anyone who can see my food diary knows I'll die of a heart attack
it's like they are just playing around with people's FEELINGS and we need to be honest here so nobody gets confused and hurt

Honestly, it's because MFP starting giving strikes and bans to people who were jerks. I was here long ago and people were total turds. It's a nicer community now for the most part.2

A few years ago there was a systematic banning of people pretty much anytime they told a person something other than what they wanted to hear. Someone asks about a new, waste of time cleanse or diet or whatever, better not give them facts. That's bullying. What's left is a forum that, while MUCH less useful far as dispensing actual information goes, sure is full of rainbows and unicorn farts. Which I guess was the goal.1

Oh my gosh, worst community ever was some pregnancy community I belonged to. I mean, the women were generally nice and supportive, but there was always a group of 'Mean Girls' who somehow found one other and just made it their own personal goal to just make everyone else miserable. I was like, seriously? You're about to bring a kid into this world. Do the world a favor and grow the heck up before you spawn.

I was like, seriously? You're about to bring a kid into this world. Do the world a favor and grow the heck up before you spawn.
I was a member of one of these. It was awful. They'd always be quick to bash someone or tell them off. Not pleasant at all and it wasn't hormonal I'm pretty sure it was all jealousy based.1 -

It depends how you use the forum. It depends how involved you get and what information you are looking for. I tend to find this forum all over the place. I see some nice people, vain people, even nasty people. I see people get ripped apart by snobby/know-it-all types and many of them don't really know what they are talking about. They just parrot information. People also forget that how you look on the outside does not mean you are necessarily healthy. In the games/chat section of the forum, most if not all the threads and the participants are people seeking nothing but validation and popularity. There's little cliques too. So being able to recognize the types of people here it helps to avoid the ones you don't want to bother with and pay attention to the ones that you do. I come here to log my food and occasionally seek some information. I do not come to argue, seek validation, try to be popular, and so on.5
