Exercise in small doses?

Hi, I am hoping someone can help with my question...
I am wondering if I am doing toning exercises in small doses throughout the day, will it have the same effect as doing them all in one go?
For example - If I want to do 50 squats today, but split that into 5 x sessions of 10 - will it have the same overall effect on my body as if I were to do a session of all 50 at the same time?
Thanks in advance.

No, intensity and muscle exhaustion matter.
But doing them in 2-3 sessions is fine.

Agreed, but doing 5 sets of 10 is better than nothing!2 -

But that wasn't the question.
"Will it have the same effect as doing them all in one go?"
Even 1 set of 5 squats is better than nothing.
Is the OP looking for affirmation that doing something is better than nothing? Isn't this obvious?
Or is the OP asking about their current workout and trying to figure out how to improve it.0 -
Hi, sorry, I wasn't really sure how to phrase the question.
I suppose I mean will it have the same overall effect on my body shape as it would if I were to do all in one go? In terms of toning my wobbly bits, do I need to do all in one go to be effective or can I split it over the day so all adds up to the same total (appreciate one day of 50 squats isn't going to do much, but over time)
I just find toning exercises really boring and trying to find a way to still accomplish what I want with my exercises without committing to a 'session' of them in one go...or am I best just getting on with it?0 -

That's because it's too easy. Try using heavier weights.

Do them as you like, doing them matters more than not doing them. Try to keep to 2-3 sets in one go.
Look into a good program and find something you enjoy doing.0
