Ok, how do I handle a business lunch that is pizza as only option. I cannot duck out and cannot be rude by not eating either.. What are my options?

1. Eat 1 or 2 slices and fit it into your daily calories.
2. Eat more than that but exercise longer later to compensate for the additional calories.
3. Go overboard, log it, get over it, move on.26 -

Bring your own food and eat it before pizza, take a small slice and eat very slowly, or pick it apart so it looks like you ate it.1

Pizza is not the devil. Are there options for type ? Think crust saves some calories, start with a salad. Eat it. Have a light supper if you have too many calories. It will be fine.4

Just eat it. No food is forbidden if you plan for it.4

I feel like this must be a trick question since the only answer I can think of is "eat the pizza" but I must be missing something...
Help me out OP, what am I missing?6 -
Limit your intake, drink a lot of water, log the calories, fit these pizza calories into your overall daily goal, and, I can't stress this enough, enjoy the pizza!3

thanks for the support everyone.. I hear there will be a veggie pizza so I think that will be my call7

I'd be SHOCKED if one slice of almost any type of pizza is more than folks on here have allotted for lunch. Unless I'm wrong, one slice of most pieces of pizza will fall between 300-500 calories...? Have one piece and don't feel guilty. Nobody became overweight from eating one piece of pizza at a business lunch, ever. You can always try to pick one of the smaller pieces, if that will make you feel better. They are rarely all the same size. If it won't be overly obvious, depending on the company, maybe you can cut one piece in half. I could do that with my coworkers, but I wouldn't do that with clients. Try and read the room. If you do cut a piece in half, don't say a word about it or draw attention to yourself, and anyone who makes a comment is in the wrong, not you.
If I'm wrong, please feel free to tell me what piece of pizza is more than 500 calories so I can not eat that kind LOL.2 -
My strategy would be to eat 2-3 slices.8

Beware the kind of pizza you eat. Extra cheese, meats, etc can easily pack on calories. Opt for chicken instead of pepperoni, go for thin crust instead of pan, etc. There are little things that you can do to help minimize the damage. Obviously doing a meat lovers with cheese stuffed crust is going to be worse than a chicken, spinach, and feta thin crust.2

Eat however much you want. Tomorrow is a new day.0

personally pizza doesn't keep me full (unless i overindulge), plus it doesn't fit my macros right now to make it worth it. i never eat pizza at work... i just say i don't eat pizza and eat my own lunch that i bring. nobody gives me *kitten* for it and i don't feel bad. end of story.1

"No thank you, I brought lunch" also works. No one can force you to eat something you don't want to eat.5

Incorrect. I'm pretty sure nothing is worse than spinach and feta on pizza. Meat lovers is definitely better.5 -
Bring your own salad. Say "Doctor's orders! Say, how's that work project going?"
Eat the salad, give the reason, CHANGE THE SUBJECT.3 -
Mmmmmm.....fetaaaaaa......love that stuff.1

Dear lord noooo, not pizza, nooooo!!! Haha sorry, I'm totally kidding. Stuff like this is gunna pop up lots, that's just life. If I have days like this where I'll be eating something higher in calories then I'll eat a smaller breakfast and supper/lunch to make up for it.0

A slice, or two, of pizza won't derail your otherwise good eating habits. Unless you have a reason for drawing attention to yourself, go with the flow and enjoy.0
-
Eat a piece of pizza, have a salad before or after. Drink water. Problem solved.0
-
Eat the pizza. Eat a light breakfast to balance it out.0

I stretch out pizza by eating it with a big salad. If there's no time to arrange for a salad at this late date, eat the pizza slowly and chew it thoroughly.1

If you want a piece have a piece (or two), whatever. If you're being strict with your logging, make it fit. If you don't want pizza, don't have pizza. If people think you're being rude for not partaking that is their problem. If someone like you were at my pizza lunch and didn’t eat I’d say Yea! More for me. Tell people you’re not hungry. It really doesn’t have to be complicated.1

You don't eat the pizza.... it's 2016, it's not rude if you don't eat *kitten* food. Grow some balls and be a leader too, cause a boss doesn't eat *kitten* pizza when they're not into it.
Also you can claim gluten allergy, bring your own lunch.... there are a million things... my company will special order stuff for anyone with dietary restrictions. That food to me is still *kitten* so I always bring my own, eat before or after... I get looks and questions when I bring my own food to a meeting, I just say I monitor what I eat and everything I put in my body is calculated. People who have been here for a long time get it ... it's more explaining to the new people.1 -
If you don't want the pizza, don't eat it.1
-
I skip the rest of my meals just so I can eat pizza once a month. Still losing weight1
-
If you don't want to eat it, don't eat it. If you are concerned about causing drama by not participating but still don't want to eat it, then take one slice and be so busy with the "business" part of the lunch that you don't get a chance to eat. Or decide to eat the pizza and just roll with it.1

It sounds like you really want to eat said pizza, so have a slice and carry on. I get not wanting to stick out at a business function by not eating what everyone else is, but it is not rude to decline and bring your own lunch ethier. Trust me in this day an age of glutenfree/lowcarb/vegan etc etc I think most people are accustomed to other people having particular eating habits/requirements.1 -
