Just spent the week camping at the lake. I love biking, hiking, swimming, and walking along the shore. Anyone else wanna run away to the lake?

This was Black Lake, in the Pasayten Wilderness. We hiked four miles to get here and did not see another person the entire time.
The nice thing about camping (at least for a city dweller like me) is being able to immerse yourself in the night sky. Here's a photo from Icicle Creek.
Here's a moonset over the western Pasayten and the Ross Lake area. The largest peak is Jack Mountain.
And the Milky Way over Silver Star from Slate Peak. You just can't see this kind of thing from Seattle.

Another wanna be glamper here.
I like outside, but I like running water and electricity too.
Doesn't have to be fancy...RV, one room cabin, fully kitted out tree house. The daydream varies depending on if I feel like being a gypsy or a hermit.0 -

Last summer I bought a couple acres of woods in the middle of southern Illinois down by Kentucky I ran water and electricity sooooo I could have my own personal camping place lol and there's a lake with plenty of fish lol I love it!!! Someday when I get rich maybe a house there lol but right now I love living in town lol ( it's a small town lol) but still town3

About to leave on a 21 mile backpacking trip in the mountains. No lakes on our route, but there will be a couple of creeks and a seasonal spring.

I prefer back-country camping. This was the last time I camped, 5/21... it is only 2 miles from the nearest road, so perhaps a bit close... but there was nobody else in the woods and the road is not very well traveled. I would prefer more remote, but this is the best it gets without leaving the state.

Now this is my kinda thread!
I go hiking and camping a minimum of once or twice per month.
Last weekend I completed a day long 22 mile hike with 3000m or so of elevation, called the Mourne Wall Challenge.

Manual focus to infinity. I used a Canon 5D v3 and a 24 mm f/1.4 L v2 for this with a Gitzo 2542L (because that's the one for my height). I used mirror lockup and a cable release. Don't remember the exposure but knowing that wouldn't really help you much because it's so tied to the conditions at the moment. I saw the northern lights an hour later, I had to underexpose by two or three stops for them to show up.
Here's Ann Lake, on the side of Mt Shuksan. This was a 4 mile hike with about 1,700 feet of elevation gain.
